I do have lenses for it, as my aunt was a professional photographer back in the day. She did use Minolta 35mm cameras, so i've done my homework on the compatibility and all that. However, if I do happen to be wrong, you can all laugh at me =]
I'm planning on buying a Sony Alpha Digital SLR in a few months to entertain me during college, and I plan on using my Minolta lenses in addition to the included Sony lenses. I say this so that we understand that I'm going to use the lenses no matter what. I just saw this film camera on Adorama and thought it might be kinda fun to learn to use one of these. Plus, its always nice to have a good film camera around. There are things you can do with film that i've never seen done with digital. Plus, no pixelation! :D
anyway, any thoughts on this camera? Any recommendations on any accessories, extra lenses, bags, etc? thanks in advance.
Film SLRs and their set could cost you under $500, even.
And it could be a good one with good lenses.
See, film cameras are a lot cheaper. But overall, the price of film and such adds up, and DSLRs are cheaper in the long run, as long as you don't update so often.

I have a bag of old Minolta 35mm lenses that my aunt gave me, and am still looking for a good camera to attach them to. I would rather have a camera that comes without lenses, as this bag has all the lenses i'd normally need. I believe them to all be autofocus, as they're relatively new as far as 35mm lenses go... I know that they'll fit the Minolta DSLR cameras, as well as most if not all of the Sony Alpha series of cameras, so I don't need to know that its one of those I'm going to need to buy. What I want to know specifically is: Is it worth the extra money to get a Sony Alpha? Or would I be ok with one of the last Minolta DSLR cameras? Also, does anyone have any recommendations of a place to buy one of those without a lens? Besides tigerdirect, adorama, or ebay? Unless anyone has one personally that they're willing to part with? Thanks in advance :-)
If you can find the Minolta 7D at a decent price, the answer is yes. Not so much on the 5D.
You can probably find the Sony A100 out there cheap, like $200. I saw an A200 on the local craig's list for $300 with (18-70) kit lens and bag.
If your lenses are indeed MA mount, they will work on the Alpha line.

So over a week ago I ordered a D40 Kit [from this Fathers Day/Graduates Special] which consists of the body, 18-55mm lens, 55-200mm lens, bag, two nikon dvds and a digital frame which was $550. The 55-200mm is backordered and I have to wait until they get the lens from the manufacturer so they can ship my package. The thing is that I need the camera soon, so I was looking online and I found a kit from Adorama with the body, 18-55mm, and 55-200mm VR lens for $600. Should I wait until the Ritz D40 kit arrives or should I cancel the order and go with Adorama?

I am currently in the market for a bag for my D90 + 18-200mm VRII lens. i dont have much other equipment but will eventually, i need to be able to cary that plus a few lens or flashes. this section has to be pretty durable (cushioned) also very resistant or waterproof as i will be snowboarding with it, not really riding hard eneough to buy the Burton Zoom i dont think. also i need this bag to be able to cary my 13'' macbook... and preferably eventually 15'' pro.
i would like it to have a way to cary a tripod (although not essential) and i LOVE the idea of a side quick open section to grab my camera.
my price range is really no higher then 115$ and thats REALLY pushing it for me.
but why spend all this money if i cant protect it.
also my camerea will have the body armor and lens armor.
the options ive been looking at. really interested in the lower pro

Crumpler unveils rugged C-List Celebrity bag from Adorama Learning ...
Brooklyn, NY –Crumpler Bags has long been known as a fun and rugged alternative to the average messenger or camera bag, but lately Crumpler has snuck into the pro photo bag-o-sphere so nonchalantly, it’s no wonder that when asked to add features to their popular photo/laptop backpack line, they smile knowingly and respond with a, “Way ahead of you mate.” With the ever increasing “Prosumer” (Pro+Consumer) photo/videographers out there, the need for reliable and comfortable ways to transport the tools of the trade has increased. The C-List Celebrity is ready to hold anything you can throw at, or in it. The C-List Celebrity is a great example of a company listening to consumer clamour and reacting. This fully padded and thoroughly rugged laptop/camera bag is rearward facing to avoid both dirt from the ground and shifty pickpockets from the underground. The removable tripod holder, retro-reflective strips and comprehensive rain cover are the most noticeable...
