For Canon 40D + 18-55 lens - Crumpler 3 Million or 4 Million bag?
Outside the 7 Million Dollar Home

Any idea whether I should buy a 3 Million Dollar home or the 4 Million Dollar home camera bag? I don't want any room for extra lens, but I want to be able to get the camera in/out easily.

Thanks.

I have a 3 million, and it hold a 10D+17-85 just fine, or a Nikon D80+18-200. It fits in without having to force it, there is adequate room between the camera and bag.

On a side note, if your 18-55 is the f/3.5-5.6 lens, then upgrade that! I have used many cameras and many lenses, and that is one of the worst lenses I have had the displeasure of using. If it is the f/2.8, then more power to you. It is not worth it to get such a good camera body, and then waste all of that capability by crippling it with a poor lens. I would recommend the 17-40 f/4 as a walkaround lens that doesn't cost too much, while delivering great quality. Or, get the 17-85 USM, if you don't mind variable aperture.

Crumpler 4 Million Dollar Bag and Gorillapod SLR?
Inside the 7 Million Dollar Home

Does anyone know if a SLR camera and a Gorillapod would fit in the Crumpler 4 million dollar home? Thanks

It should be a very tight fit.

That bag has a 20cm tall compartment with space for the camera w/ attached lens and extra space for one additional lens... or a flash... or indeed, a squished up Gorillapod.
When laid out flat, the Gorillapods (there are 2 versions for a dSLR) are 25cm.

Help me pick one: Lowepro Nova 140 AW or Crumpler $4 million home bag?
My New Home

Link for Lowepro: http://products.lowepro.com/product/Nova -140-AW,2102,20.htm

Pros:
-has a raincoat thing which you can take out to protect your gear even in heavy rain, which crumpler doesn't.
-has padded shoulder strap which crumpler doesn't.
Cons:
-looks like a camera bag (come steal me), which crumpler doesn't.

Link for Crumpler: http://www.amazon.com/Crumpler-Million-D ollar-Photo-Color/dp/B0009Y583G

Pros:
-is stylish and slim
-does not look like a camera bag...so good!
Cons:
-might look girlish...?
-no rain protection for the gear, has little open corners on the top
-no padded shoulder strap, might hurt shoulders after long time

I don't want other suggestions. No $5 million either.

I have Nikon D40 with 18-200mm VR ...no other lens...just wish to carry this and ofcourse the hood, battery charger with cable, 2 filters, and a usb card reader.

Which one would you pick? google to product to see more images i guess.

I'd go with the Lowepro. So it looks like a camera bag. Any serious thief knows what the other bags look like, too, so they know what to steal. Wear it over your head with the bag hanging by your waist in the front and a little to the side, and you can rest your arm on it and hang onto the strap, too.

A camera bag + backpacker bag possible as hand carry on easyJet?
2 Million Dollar Home camera bag

I'm off on a two way trip to Valencia from London, and vice versa. I have about 3 or 4 cameras I would like to bring around in my Crumpler 7 Million Dollar Home (safe for the cameras!), but it will not fit in my Deuter Futura 38 AC (backpacker bag). I'm not considering hold baggage at all as I will be travelling around Europe. Also, horror stories about lost baggage do not inspire my confidence in easyJet. I am also not considering packing my cameras in the Deuter as I would need a carry around bag when taking photographs, and most of my cameras are old and fragile - hence the need for safety and security in a proper camera bag.

I need to bring both bags. Will easyJet let me bring on both bags if I strap in the Crumpler to my backpack, much like how strapping in a sleeping bag would look? Does anyone have any experience with this? Or any suggestions?

Thanks!

As long as it is just one piece of luggage and not over big, nor over heavy, EasyJet is not going to protest.
What over-big and over heavy are is up to the check-in desk people, but if you can carry it as if it has no weight they do not put it on the scales.
Over-big is an harder one, as you are not going to hide the size from eyeball inspection.
The biggest I have seen accepted as hand luggage is about twice the size of those in-flight cases, but that might have been on an half empty flight.

If I were you I would spell out the EasyJet website for the latest info, they do have a lot of useful info.
In case of need, check in your clothes and keep the cameras as hand luggage, they do not loose that much luggage, not more than other airlines, it is the airports that loose the luggage.

And remember not to put anything sharp, pointy or liquid in your luggage if you want to carry it on board.

Stylish camera case??? Looking for a good quality, low priced case. Help please?
2 Million Dollar Home camera bag

Well, the fifteenth birthday is coming up and I was looking at some camera cases for my Canon Rebel Xsi and one or two of its lenses and possibly a flash. As I do tend to take my camera to lots of places; i.e. photo club, parks, zoos, school events, a lightweight shoulder bag would seem ideal.I am really not looking to spend more that a hundred dollars, and would like it to be at least somewhat stylish and or colorful. I don't want to seem lazy, but maybe you could say what you have or point me in the right direction, because I haven't had much luck in finding anything besides the typical lowepro or tamrac.

I was thinking about the Crumpler 5 million dollar bag or the Acme Made Bowler Bag, but any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a million!

I've been searching desperately for a camera bag that's attractive, affordable, and functional, and the Crumpler 5 Million Dollar Bag and the Acme Bowler Bag are the two that I've narrowed it down to as well. There is a huge market for better-looking camera bags that don't scream "Mug me, I have expensive equipment!" or "Look, I'm carrying an ugly bag with a camera in it!"

I've heard amazing things about the Crumpler, and borrowed a friend's for a day. It was everything I would have hoped, so I can definitely recommend that. I didn't have much gear with me though, just my D80 body and my 70-300mm lens. I could also fit my cigarettes, wallet, and iPod though, which is always useful. The bag was nice and comfortable, if a bit unattractive, but it was nice and sturdy.

The Acme Made bag is much cuter and less expensive though, and could also double as a regular purse. I haven't seen it in person, but I'm concerned that it might be a bit small. I've seen photos where it is comfortably holding a DSLR body with lens attached, and extra lens, and it looks like there is room for a flash unit or another small accessory. However, there doesn't appear to be room for much else. On the other hand, this bag seems like it's super easy to open, even easier than the Crumpler, which is a selling point for me since I've missed shots while trying to drag my camera out of its bag.

If you have any stores around that stock either bag I'd recommend going to check them out. Also, if you choose the Acme Made bag, let me know if it's too small! :p Good luck with your choice, and happy approaching fifteenth birthday.

  • Crumpler 8 Million Dollar Home Camera Bag: Review | Outside San Diego

Storing the camera gear that I seem to tote all over has long been a dilemma.  I have used a number of different configurations of storage to keep my camera gear while never being very satisfied with the results.  Camera bags always seem to be either are too little too big, uncomfortable to carry, or scream “steal me I am full of expensive camera gear”

I have recently reviewed the Crumpler Bumper Issue Hydration Pack , and was very impressed with the quality and workmanship they put into their gear. The 8 Million Dollar home stays true to this focus on quality and is by every indication a very well made bag.   They are also stylish, combining unique colors of the water resistant 900D shell and the 150D ripstop lining stand out from the drab run-of-the-mill bags that dominate peoples backs and shoulders.

    Height- 33cm Width- 38cm Depth- 18cm Volume 18L

I store a Nikon D40 camera,  25- 50mm lens, a 30-200 lens, a flash, a mini tripod,  batteries, SD cards, filters,  a small camcorder, DV tapes, a backup point and shoot camera in a case, pencils, pens, notepads, and assorted other junk with room to spare for a light coat, my travel coffee mug and more inside this bag.  In fact this bag can store a much larger kit than I currently have. The nice part about the 8-Million Dollar home is the dividers are configurable through a series of Velcro components that stick to the soft interior lining to match and protect whatever gear you are carrying.  I would love to see a dedicated laptop sleeve within the bag,  as I was not able to configure it to carry my 13″ Macbook, but perhaps that is the domain of a larger bag.
