Aa Camera Battery

I'm thinking of buying a camera and my previous camera (really old actually) used was a recharagable camera which isn't the AA batteries and it only lasted me about max 6 hours and it died. I was wondering if a camera that used AA Batteries last longer than the recharagable cameras? Or does it depend on the model?
Cause i guess you could buy rechargable AA batteries which is good? But any thoughts?

Individual AA batteries are not available in Li-Ion. The CR-123 or CR-V3 Li-Ion packs can be used in some cameras which use (2) AA batteries.

Why do people say “AA or rechargeable”? AA size are available as Ni-Cad or
Ni-Mh rechargeable batteries.

For rechargeable batteries
Li-Ion will provide the most photos per charge. These are proprietary batteries used in different cameras.
High rated Ni-Mh will provide less photos per charge. These are typically AA size.

Non-rechargeable AA lithium batteries are available and will provide more photos per set than Ni-Mh will per charge. These are expensive.

My preference is for cameras which use AA size. I use 2650mah Duracell Ni-Mh and get very good life per charge. In the event I find myself with dead batteries I can run out and get AA alkalines to use in the pinch. When you have a proprietary Li-Ion you have no other options. Proprietary batteries are also expensive to replace or buy a second one.

Well, I plan on getting the Kodak Z712 IS Digital Camera and I was curious as to where I can get a rechargeable battery for it, owing to the fact that I simply hate to burn up so much money on AA batteries. So yeah, any ideas?

Pretty much anywhere that sells batteries.

I currently have two canon powershot s410 and sd600 that uses square battery pack and I use a charger to charge them back up. I was wondering whether regular double AA batteries are better compared to the digital cameras that uses battery packs. Sorry for the wordy ness.

lithium pack:
+ small and light
+ store more power
+ longer battery life
+ faster charging
- expensive
- less compability

I'm trying to decide between a some digital cameras and I was wondering if you would choose a battery that used AA batteries or the standard lithium battery.

Lithium batteries have longer life and can stand longer charging cycles...so you're getting more power and longer service time

My old digital camera had rechargeable AA batteries and I wanted to use it for other stuff, but don't want to test it and ruin the product. Is it safe to use?

depends on the specific batteries. some can be used in other products and some can not. i would say to check the package but i doubt you have it still. maybe you can ask someone at an electronics store that carries your product
