I have an Olympus FE-230 digital camera. I recently moved and I lost the cable that connects into the battery charger that goes to the power outlet. Olympus wants $40 for a whole new charger and $20 for a cable... plus shipping. I'm hit pretty hard from the holidays and all I need is the cable. Can you charge the battery off of the USB cable that goes into the computer? I know you can charge some cell phones that way but I wasn't sure about the camera. Otherwise, does anyone know where I can get the cable for $10 or less or the charger for $20 or less? I looked on ebay and I get confused with the battery types and I don't want to buy the wrong charger! Thank you!

Just take your charger into "Radio Shack" and see if they have a AC cord that will fit your charger. Otherwise you will have to just save your pennies and buy the "cable" from Olympus.

You do not want to buy a cheap, generic charger for your camera's battery. The OEM charger supplied by Olympus has circuitry that prevents over charging and will condition the battery as well.

And, no, you cannot charge the camera using the USB port on your computer.

So I don't want to buy another charger and I am on a budget (the olympus replacement cord is $19 plus S&H) ! So is it possible for me to just buy a random cord that plugs into an outlet and this thing:

How do you all feel about this deal all for 125 dollars??

It inlcludes the following:

Its considered very good for a 125 dollar deal, but think it through. Are you sure the retailer is legal? Is the camera faulty? But if your really sure, you got to know that the 1GB xD card i rarely used. xD is normally only used by Fujifilm and Olympus. Although some of thier models use SD, you got to know that its very rare. Try to go to the shop and hold it in your hands. Try it out. Its all your decision.
