I was bored, so I decided to make a video about my DSLR. The Canon Digital Rebel/300D. I hope this informal info video was not too boring ...
I need a free software that extracts photos from a Canon EOS 300D Digital Camera. Can anyone help?
You can use the software that came on the CD's with the camera. Windows will also download if you plug the camera in via usb and power the camera on. Finally you can use a card reader to read the files off the card.

Download your drivers directly from Canon:

choose model, enter operating system and look after USB drivers or something similar. This will make your life a lot easier and sosts you nothing. Another option is to use a card-reader (see first answer)).

Still works fine after years of light use. What should I upgrade to if I decide to (Canon only)
You need to look at the EXIF header in your latest photo. You can use Opanda (graphical interface, read only for free version) or Exiftool (command line tool, very complete, read & write), both free programs. On Opanda, you'll find "total number of shutter releases for the camera" near the bottom of the list.
I would like suggestions on what are the best settings for my camera (as above) for doing sport photography especially football photography in the daytime from the sideline of the field. My zoom lens is 75-300mm 1:4-5.6
Please help with what ever you can?
Use a shutter speed of at least 1/500th second.
I am surprised that you have such a fine, adjustable camera and haven't figured this basic kind of thing out ... That tells me you need to take a class in photography so you do not get too frustrated using a camera like this.
The camera is only a tool ... if you have to spend any time thinking about the settings, you are going to miss a lot of shots. The goal is to learn all you can by going to school, using the camera as much as possible in as many different lighting conditions as possible.
If you have noticed, the pros on the sidelines are shooting, not checking there camera settings.

50D Going Away Hints « Canon Rumors
Canon attempted to purchase Pentax.
There’s a concern within Canon about Sony’s position in the DSLR market. They’re proving to be very committed in gaining marketshare.
It was insinuated that Sony has interest in Pentax and its user base, whereas Canon doesn’t necessarily want the same thing.
It was an interesting talk. I don’t have lots of info, but the source is good.
Enjoy :)
And that is just what causes the crisis. Spending money you don’t have. What if Philip drops the 7D after 7 days of use. He has to save to pay for nothing.
Stupid spenders. Only buy if you have the money. Only exception would be a house I guess.
Just like the banks, the people didn’t learn fom this crisis, and it even isn’t over yet.
