Canon 450d Camera

I have a Canon 450D camera and need a sensor to trigger off the lights I have.

I have Interfit lighting and currently the lights sense off the flash but this is causing lots of shadow.

I have been told I can get a sensor which fits on the top of the camera which will trigger the lights - but which sensor ? Does anyone know the model number or where I can find one in the UK >?

I have just purchased a canon 450D camera and i am trying to change the exposure settings in the manual mode. I have read the instruction book but it still doesnt seem to work can anyone help please??

The Manual Mode means that you are selecting the exposure - the ISO, the shutter speed and the aperture (F stop).

In the other modes, like aperture priority (Av), shutter priority (Tv) you select ISO plus one other of the three and the camera calculates the remaining componet. For example, if you select ISO 100, set the aperture at F5.6, the camera will determine the proper shutter speed.

When you select M on the dial, you need to set all three. ISO is easy, go ahead and set that at 100 if you are shooting in good light. Now, when you look through the viewfinder, you will see a scale on the bottom that shows exposure. It shows the proper exposure (line right in the middle), and -2 and +2.

Using the thumbwheel, you will be changing the shutter speed. Try moving the wheel and see if you can get the little indicator in the middle of the scale, If you can't you may need to change the aperture first. To do that, you need to press and hold the AV button (see your manual, page 72, if you don't know where that is) and turn the wheel again.

Getting the indicator in the middle of the scale is the same as allowing the camera's meter to determine the exposure. Moving a little left or right lightens or darkens the photo, and lets you compensate for odd light situations.

hello , can you help please. my husband has recently bought the canon 450d Camera and is taking pics of wildlife. recently he has been going out at night to try and take photos of local deer but its not going well. any tips please for taking photo's at night/or early evening. he is using it on auto but pic's are coming back blank and the Camera is saying it is busy?

I'm about to buy a new Canon EOS 450D digital camera, and my dad has old EOS film lenses that he is going to give me. Would they work on the new digital camera? and is there anyway to check and see if they do? (e.g. a symbol? etc.) and is there anyway to adapt them to work with digital ones if they do not work?

Yes your dad's older lenses will work on your 450D.

One benefit will be that since the lenses for his film camera were designed to cast an image circle that covered a 35mm film frame, you'll only be using the center part of the image circle on the smaller sensor - what's known as the "sweet spot" of the lens.

Another benefit is that if you ever upgrade to a full-frame sensor camera like the 5D Mark II your older film lenses will still work just fine.

The camera is completely switched off, not using a remote control or anything. Just the display comes on while I know I have switched the camera to the off position.
