Canon Digital Slr Rebel Camera

I'm purchasing a remote control for my boyfriends, Digital SLR Canon Rebel Camera. Looking online I've come across different models from Canon, and generic remotes that can be used for different makes of camera? If someone happens to have this camera or just knows about SLR's in general, please give me an idea of what I need to get. I'm oping to purchase off ebay, it's usually cheapest. Thanks.

a generic one might have to be programmed to work on the camera.

I am trying to find a good 50mm lens for my Digital Rebel and see that the film Canon SLR lenses are much cheaper.

Any of the Canon EF and EF-S lenses will work with your Rebel DSLR.

What will NOT work are EF-S lenses on the 1D and 5D series Canon DSLR's or Canon EOS 35 mm SLR's

NONE of the Canon FD or older FL lenses are usable with the EOS cameras

This is a very basic knowledge about your particular camera. May I assume that you have not read the manual? It is on page 26.

It uses CF (compact flash). And per Sandisk website, the largest CF can use is 16 gigabyte card. That will hold plenty of photos. Don't try to save too much money on these memory cards. Your photos are worth more than a few bucks. Get brand name--not necessary the fastest one (more expensive ones). But don't get them from ebay!

I think the best thing for you to do even before taking any photos is to study the manual.

i just bought Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT SLR Camera on ebay for a really good price, but it didn't come with a lens. I'm looking for a regular lens to buy, what kind should i get/what is it called?

for beginning SLR photographers, I would recommend the Kit lens which is sold regularly with the camera It's the 18-55is (IS Stands for image stabalization) The lens should sell for about $100 new, or 50-75% of that used on auction websites...
It's not a great lens, by any means, but it's a very good value, and versitile for almost any indoor shooting situation.
I also use canon's 28-135is, which has a bit more telephoto, and a bit less wide angle. It's not as inexpensive as the 18-55 kit lens, but it's an excellent quality lens for a beginner, and it won't break the bank.

Could yous please give me your opinion on this camera and what the average price this camera is. Also, is the next step up from this camera the 20d? If no, what is? If yes, would it be worth my money to pay a couple hundred more (if that's an accurate price increase) for the 20d? I will be using the camera for professional quality photos and hopefully to supplement my income in the future.

This is a fine camera. It will run about $700.00. The next step up is the XSI and this will run about $900.00. The 20D has been discontinued but you can still find some new ones if you look around. If you are just starting out and money is a concern I would get the XTI and invest any extra money in a better lens. Unless you are prepared to spend $5,000.00 and get a camera with a full size image sensor it wont make any difference which DSLR you have. The lenses can make a big difference though.
