Canon Elf Digital Camera

I can't find my manual and I don't know how to change the setting from superfine to normal. it's bugging me b/c the picture memory is to big to send on the internet now (1.5 MB)

Press the function/set button. This should pull up a menu that appears on the left-hand side of the screen. Scroll down to the bottom two options. The very bottom one will probably work best for you. It will display the resolution of the image. How fine your picture is won't make a big difference.

Nope, it doesn't matter, if you want to store more pictures, get a higher memory card. If your just going to take them, store it in your computer and delete them, get a lower memory card.

My sister, who just graduated, is ready to purchase her first digital camera. She wants to spend about $150 (no more than $200 max) on one and is looking for one that takes great quality pictures yet is a fairly easy-to-use camera for her first digital.

I have heard good things about the Canon Elf Digital as well as some of the Nikons so am wondering if one of these might be a good choice? And as far as Nikons, I don't know what exact model to go after. Any suggestions on a particular model in her price range (in any brand) would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

I have this wonderful little Canon Elf APS film camera. The film is getting hard to come by and flying with 800 film is getting to be a hassle.I would move to a digital camera, but I can't figure out if the digitals will do what my puny little automatic does.
With the elf, you can choose a panorama shot, and that is what you will see in the viewfinder. Then, somehow, when the photos are printed, the panorama shots are printed as 4 x 11 pictures.
I'd like to switch, but I use the panorama shots alot when I travel.

I have a canon Elf 300 and I havent had any problems until recently. I dont know if I hit something or if there is something wrong with the lens or maybe i need a new battery? The pictures are coming out brighter than usual and very grainy. I have tried putting all the settings back to their default but its still the same. Any help!?

You may have your ISO set far too high. Using your cameras menu, set the ISO to 100 and then try shooting again outdoors. That should do the trick
