Canon Eos 30d Digital Slr Camera

I have a canon EOS 10S camera that takes film. I want to buy a canon EOS 30D digital camera. Can I use the same lenses from my EOS 10S on the 30D ? Thanks.

Pretty much all the canon lenses are compatible. I have a rebel 2000 (film), a digital rebel and a 30D and I always switch lenses back and forth. That is one of the major selling points that canon had when it first introduced digital SLR's was that you could use all your old lenses.

I plan to buy an EOS canon 30D and i never bought any electonics from ebay; only bags, books, ect. Is it safe to buy a digital camera online? becasue the offer is sounds too good to be true

If you are buying on ebay, not only should you check the sellers rating, you should check to see what they were selling to get that rating. There are some sellers who pump up their ratings by giving good service on inexpensive items. Then they offer high-priced items such as digital cameras or laptops and never deliver.

Before you buy from an individual on-line, check the major camera retailers. If you are getting a much lower price on ebay, it's probably fishy.

Start with B&H Camera in NYC. They are reputable.

I just finished my beginner photography class, so i want to buy a good quality slr digital camera. I cant decide between canon eos 30d, rebel and nikon d80. I frequently take photos of landscapes and portrait, so i need a good quality lens also. I heard that lenses that comes with the body of the camera is not really good, compared to buying a separate lens. I am planning to spend around 900-1200 $ . So whats the best choice for me ?

you could get the same thing pretty much from the nikon d40x but i also looked at the d80 and was impreesed but didint get it cus of the price for portrait a good lens is anywhere from 18mm-55mm,most cameras will come with this, i have also a 55-200 mmm, you can get bigger lenses for far away landscapes

I have decided to buy a new digital SLR, and had actually decided to buy the camera that would replace the EOS 20D, but when i look at the specifications on the 400D compared to the 30D I have a hard time taking the final decision. I am mostly interested in answers from people with a little more than basic knowledge on this subject. Thanks in advance.

i'm not gonna say that 400d is better or 30d is better ....but i'll advice u to have the 400d and use the price differnce to get an extra lense ...good luck.

I'm thinking about getting a Canon EOS-30D Digital SLR Camera with a Canon EF 28-105/3.5-4.5 USM lens. What would be a good tripod for that which is under $100? thanks!

Most of your shabby all the way up to the super expensive ones will work on your camera. Turn your camera upside down, see that tapped screw hole? Tripods use a pretty universal thumb-screw-on-plate method. You disconnect/slide the plate from the tripod, align it with the hole on the camera and just screw in. I've used countless tripods and haven't had a problem yet with any tripod.

I use a cheap Modo tripod for most of my photography. On turbulent days where I don't need to do a whole lot of hiking, my heavier tripod works wonders. It's bulk keeps it fixed with no interference from the weather. You can get a pretty good tripod for 50 bucks no problem.

When I'm biking/hiking I use my moderately light weight Manfrotto Modo. It cost about 54 dollars.
