I would like to know the most economical flashgun for use with the Canon 350D EOS digital slr (that will not screw up the camera!) Thanks for your advice!!
If you're talking about simple slave flash I use two of them. They don't use infra red though - they're tripped off the on board flash on my
Rebel XS and they work just fine. Actually I wouldn't see a need for an infra red trigger unless you're shooting with a slave off camera and not using your on board or external flash. That's a neat approach and
you may be able to do some research here.

I got mine at Ritz for around $35. each. These with tripods, a bag and the extras I think I invested around $150.

Can i use my film roll camera's lens with the digital SLR. are they compatible. If they are what will be the difference in the zooming and all. As i have 28-80mm and 80-200mm lens of film roll SLR. If i use this with digital SLR what will the zoom. will they be same or different....
I'm pretty sure that as long as you stick with the same line of camera, you will still be able to use the old lenses. So you should be fine. As far as zoom, I believe that will also be the same. This is a great site to go to for all your photography questions: http://www.dpreview.com/forums/

I was planning to buy a digital SLR. I found canon 350D good for me in my budget. But I saw that there are two types of this camera: Canon EOS 350D (Black and silver) and Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT. Could anyone clarify if both of them are the same or different ? If different, which is a better one. Quick reply is solicited.Thanks.
They are the same camera.
It's called the 350D in Europe, Rebel XT in the USA, and Digital Kiss N in Japan. Depending on where you live, the import models might have a lesser warranty.
(With the current model, it's 400D; Rebel XTi; Digital Kiss X)

I have a Canon EOS IX Slr camera, with 24 to 85mm lens it uses APS or Advantix films instead of conventional films, it was revolutionary at its time until the emergence of the DLSR, i bought it for sentimental reasons and its ease of use, i also have a Canon Speedlight 430ez flash.. here is my problem now im thinking of buying a DLSR im choosing either a Nikon D70 or Canon 350d or 400d, but im leaning towards a Canon, so i currently have 2 SLR a Nikon F80 with Tamron 24 to 200mm lens and Nikon SB-25 flash, and the Canon EOS IX with 24 to 80mm lens and Canon Speedlight 430ez, if i will buy a DLSR, one of my SLR will go, i will sell, which would i sell, one would be my backup SLR. OR shouldf i just keep it because its useful and it wouldnt be that large sum of money if i sell it. If i sell shall i sell the whole line or just the camera body, the lens or the flash. If i go DIGITAL would my existing flash be fully compatible or need to be sold and be replaced as well.. in a bdget
Most likely, your SLR lenses will fit on the same brand DSLR camera, so you would want to keep whatever brand you buy in the DSLR and get rid of the other. You won't get too much money for a used 35 mm SLR, so consider donating it to a school for use in class.
I wouldn't choose your DSLR purchase based on the lens that you own NOW, but as you look towards adding lenses in the future, at least you will have two cameras that can use the lenses you buy.
If you want to make a good comparison, you should match the Canon 350d against the Nikon D70s or the Canon 400d against the Nikon D80. Check this out:

Canon EOS 450D Digital SLR Camera
Â
Canon launches its latest D-SLR, the EOS 450D (Canon Digital Rebel XSi in America). Featuring a 12.2 Megapixel CMOS sensor, EOS Integrated Cleaning System, 3.0â LCD with Live View mode and a new 9-point AF system, the model presents consumers with an unprecedented level of image quality and versatility at this end of the market. The Canon EOS 450D employs features already proven in Canonâs professional EOS-1 series cameras, including the DIGIC III image processor and a redesigned menu system that enables features such as direct control of Speedlite flash units from the camera LCD. A choice of 13 custom functions allows the photographer to customise the camera to their shooting style.
On the surface a very similar camera to the EOS 400D, however there are a range of significant improvements; twelve megapixel CMOS sensor, 3.0″ LCD monitor, Live View with both AF modes (contrast-detect and passive), 14-bit processing and RAW, spot metering, improved AF, 3.5 fps continuous shooting, a larger viewfinder, SD/SDHC storage and a new higher capacity battery. All in all a fairly impressive range of usage oriented improvements and refinements.
