Blue Digital Camera Case

i want to buy a new camera, i was looking at this Canon one, is it a good camera to get as my first camera? thank-you in advance.

Yes, it is an excellent camera, however, I have to recommend the Canon PowerShot SD780 IS. ($199 at Amazon) It has one feature that other brands do not, an optical viewfinder in addition to the LCD. LCD viewfinders just don't work well in broad daylight. If you are going to take pictures outdoors, you should consider getting a camera with an optical viewfinder. It comes in red, black, silver or gold.

but it says that the waterproof case is for the SD1100IS Digital Cameras

also, when i called best buy to ask if they had the case in stock, the lady mentioned that the case works for all canon cameras, which i find hard to believe.

if anyone knows for sure if the case would or wouldnt work for the camera, please tell me. also, if the case doesnt work, could you please mention other waterproof cases that would work for the camera.

the Canon WP-DC22 Case is for the SD1100. I would not expect it to work for other models.

i accidentaly exposed my digital camera lens (Sony DSC-H5) to direct sun rays for a second or 2 on the worst case.. ..

will this affect the quality and performance of the camera?

i just noticed that in the finder lcd any source of light produce virtical blue -or magenta- lines.. but when i capture the image it is clear from any lines.. is this normal?

Direct sunlight will not hurt the lens, but it can be harmful to the image sensor of your camera. Sunlight can be magnified by the lens and damage the individual image cells on the surface of the sensor. This is usually more of an issue if the sensor is subject to prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially any camera with a live preview [most point and shoot digital cameras]. I would imagine your camera is fine, just don't do what you did too many times. Your lens is fine.

hi! so i am going scuba diving, and i want to know if you think i should get a camera that is waterproof up to 90 ft underwater, or should i just get a regular digital camera and then buy a waterproof case that you can take underwater up to 130 ft, which corresponds to the camera..

the waterproof camera would probably be around $800-1000 and i cant really afford that right now, but if you have any suggestions please post a link.

They make waterproof cameras that are cheaper and no case is needed for them.
Although they aren't waterproof up to 90 ft. deep.
I would choose the Canon camera out of these three.
