I currently have a studio in my home and do wedding and family portraits, but went to the UT/Memphis game yesterday and was thinking about how I'd love to have been down there getting shots of the players...how would I go about starting this? I thought maybe calling the universities and asking them...or maybe offering to take some for free or something...just to try it out...but not sure exactly who I'd call or what department. Any other suggestions?
You neglected to tell us what camera system you have.
I will assume you have some kind of Nikon, Fujifilm or Canon DSLR with at least a good 70-200 mm f/2.8 lens ... that combination will get you started shooting basketball ... for football and baseball you will have to include a 400 mm f/2.8 on a mono-pod and a 600 mm f/4 (on a good sturdy tripod for baseball)
Don't ever sell your work for "free" You will never be able to charge them for your work after doing freebies
Shoot on spec ... that is do not charge them for showing up and shooting, but do charge them for any images they want to use at the current market price ... you may have to research this before you approach them. Besides, how are you are you going to afford the $7,000 + lenses if you don't charge anything? And what about the replacing of your camera body every 18-24 months? All part of the cost of doing business.

girl 1= very preppy, cheerleader, has a lot of friends, also has a lot of people who dont like her, wears a lot of pink, wears a lot of clothing that shows cleavage and very short shorts, lost her virginity to a boy with a girlfriend, has sex with 19 year olds, talks and jokes about sex all the time, loves football, loves basketball, athletic, likes rap songs about sex, very caring, sneaks out often, texts very often, wears hair up most of the time or done very well. funny. can be mean to some people but extremely nice and loving to friends/ family, has an attitude at times. energetic, like to party a lot, knows that shes beautiful
girl 2= very artistic, loves poetry and writing music, loves photography, loves football, runs track, loves real hip hop music, loves soul music, shops from thrift stores, wears plain white v neck shirt a lot, wears a lot of plaid or floral printed clothing, likes to wear short shorts, vegetarian, virgin but not prude, likes to talk about sex and joke about it sometimes but not as often as girl number 1, trys to make everyone else happy, has a tattoo and loves piercings, wants to move to new york, likes to read, does a lot of bad things but has a good heart, doesnt have many friends by choice, wears hair out all the time and doesnt care too much how it looks. funny. kind of sarcastic at times. trys to be nice to everyone. laidback. doesnt take a lot of things too seriously and just likes to have fun. prefers to walk most places and loves to be outside, doesnt really know shes beautiful and doesnt care
im not trying to make one person seem better than the other i tried to make it as even as possible.
ugh could u stop putting that thing on every question! im talking to u gionni or whatever
I can relate to girl number 2, you will find that she is the better choice because you will have more to talk about. Shes not concerned with vanity, or herself as much as the "things" surrounding her.
I'd choose her, if I were you, good luck.

Anti-alien protest in Lakewood called off
Organizer cites safety concerns
Posted by the Asbury Park Press on 08/16/07
BY ZACH PATBERG
TOMS RIVER BUREAU
LAKEWOOD — The organizer of a scheduled rally against illegal immigration has canceled the event, deciding there was not enough security to protect the crowd and speakers.
Diane Reeves of Lakewood, who planned the protest for Aug. 25 at the town square on Clifton Avenue, pointed to rumors that such gangs as MS 13 and the Latin Kings, as well as some out-of-town militant groups, would disrupt the rally. That, coupled with the conflict that occurred at a similar protest last month in Morristown, convinced Reeves that the handful of officers Police Chief Robert Lawson promised to provide would not be enough protection.
"I was nervous that if something happened, what were we supposed to do?" Reeves said.
She and other rally supporters voiced resentment that the township had not agreed to assign more members of its 125-strong police force. They pointed to Morristown, which supplied a strong police presence at the protest over the same issue in late July. Five people were ar-rested and two were slightly injured at that event.
"I was very upset when I heard," said Carmen Morales, vice chairwoman of the advocacy group You Don't Speak For Me, who was supposed to speak at the rally. "I feel Lakewood is like a sanctuary for illegal immigrants . . . and (the police) seem to protect them."
Officials relieved
Mayor Raymond Coles stressed that the Morristown rally was municipally sponsored, as opposed to the privately organized one in Lakewood. Lawson said he could not justify taking more officers off patrol duty, and the township could not afford the overtime.
Beyond that, Coles and Lawson agreed with Reeves' decision to cancel.
"I'm relieved," Lawson said. "Lakewood has a large number of undocumented residents . . . and now you're going to have a group in the center of town speaking out against illegal aliens. So it's possible there'd be friction between the two factions that could lead to confrontation."
Coles said, "This is a very emotional, heated issue and bringing two very emotional groups together might cause problems."
Estimates of the number of illegal immigrants in Lakewood range from 5,000 to 20,000. A 2006 estimate by the U.S. Census bureau put the township's population at almost 70,000.
Lawson added that it was common for organizers to pay for off-duty police officers as protection at rallies. The Lakewood rally was expected to draw up to 500 people and was to have five speakers, including two family members of victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
Reeves, who has never organized a rally before, now plans to find an indoor venue in another town to hold the protest, saying that since the cancellation she has heard from angry supporters offering contributions toward the cost of a demonstration.
"Look at the 100,000 illegals getting protection to march down the street everywhere else," she said. "But me, a citizen, has no right because of safety issues."

Just another example of the liberals protecting the illegal scumbags. If that town had any real intestinal fortitude, it would round up all the illegal scumbags, and ship them back to the garbage-dump of a country they came from. Then there wouldn't be any need of a rally. Problem solved.

The Goins…. {Frisco Texas Family Photography}
I was able to do more of what I love on this shoot and take more lifestyle photography. I do love posing families, but I love it even more when the kids are just playing and having a great time and I am capturing them in the moment. I pulled out a lot of stops to try and make this sweet 3 year old laugh, but he just didn’t think I was too funny, which really tickled actually. I think clients know that I end up looking very foolish by the end of our shoot, but hey I can hopefully get some good expressions. I did get the oldest to laugh, but little L was having none of it which I think just add’s to how cute he is. I think he looks like a little gap model catching that football below. There are some photos that just WORK in black and white and that one is definitely one. Oh and this is a Texas Tech family!!!! Got to love that! G could pass for Tony Romo down there… I was going to say Taylor Potts, then I thought no, I should say, Steven Sheffield… or maybe Seth Doege. Lets just stick with Romo!!
