What is the best branch of military for me?
A Look into the Past

I have a future wife and a child on the way, I am 18 years old, I am highly interesting in Photography, Video, and Film all though I have no problem with those being just hobbies and take on any career path that involves hard work for a well driven kid. I would like to be with my daughter as much as possible as well as my girlfriend. Is there a branch with better housing benefits, can my family follow me where i go all the time with the exception of deployment?

You should look into Air Force. Short boot, best housing, shortest deployments, and best food. It is harder to get promotions then other branches, but offers some great career field if you do not intend to stay 20 years. They offer some jobs that transfer really well to civilian life.

I'm thinking about joining the military after high school, should I?
That Last Kiss

I don't really have an idea of what I wanna be in the future. Im extremely confused now actually

I'm currently a junior in high school, and I've always been a military brat, so I know what its like to move around alot and transition to new environments

But the only thing thats holding me down is what I really want in life, I'm not sure what career I want in the military and Im not sure of what my skills are

and i definitely dont wanna be in combat.
I'm not sure how joining the military will affect my goals in art and photography and more importantly my interpersonal relationships with my friends and family

i dont want the military thing to affect me getting married or something haha
but the thing is, the military will get my life started, its a good start in my opinion.
its an excuse for me to get away from the house.

cuz my parents said if i go to college, theyre gonna follow me >.<
but the thing is, i cant summarize to you what i want to be, my only lead right now is something in the military that will hopefully land me in some foreign country

any website to help me find my compatible job in the military?
lol i say "but the thing is" ALOT

Sounds to me like you should talk with a recruiter about public affairs/broadcasting/photography. All branches have official photographers, specialists who write press releases, and broadcast specialists who work for the Armed Forces Networks. By the little you've given us, these career possibilities are what comes to mind first.

I've always gone with the adage "Do what you love. The rest will follow."

Should I quit my part time job to persue a career?
Never Let Go

I work part time as a photographer in a retail studio and I think I want more. I love photography but I hate haveing to work holidays, weekends and odd hours. I have a family at home that I would like to be with. The pay is not grat and I don't see myself moving up in this career field. We are military so we move around every three years and don't have an opportunity to move up in any job. Again I love photography but I hate retail and sometimes the customers. I would like to find more of a federal job so that I can work set hours of Mon - Fri, no weekends or holidays. I'm almost 30 and just have a ged and that is it. I have thought about getting a job at a bank but I think I need to get some kind of accounting degree. I really don't think I'm school material. I've also thought with an accounting degree I can get a job as a civilian in the military and it can transfer with me everytime we move then I can have a retirement. What shold I do?

Little A,

The sight below has a career/education assessment page on it. You can take the test and see if you are college material or not. It will also tell you what fields you would do well in.

If you are moving every three years I don't think account would be good unless you plan to be like an auditor for the state. From what I hear that is like the job from h***!

Why not pursue photography? You can freelance from anywhere!

Considering joining the military?
Big Brother

Hi all, I'm considering joining the military, most likely the Army but still looking at the other branches. My long term goal is documentary and/or intelligence photography (maybe through dinfos). I'm struggling with a few things. I'm worried how I'll do separated from my family. I also worry about getting injured and being unable to support myself. I may want a family of my own one day and I know I want to own my own home....but how likely is it that I'll end up stationed near my home (Louisiana) and stable/paid enough to own a home? If I join the military does it mean I will have to put all my things in storage, close my apartment, and get shipped to Iraq with only a backpack of my own things? I'm female (note the avatar!) and have 2 more years of college (art degree, photo concentration). Was thinking about enlisting after I graduate...unless I should do it before?

I suggests you call this two phones numbers. They will provide information and answers all your question truthfully. Theses are not military organization.
