Believe there are 2 types circular is one. I was going to put it on end of lens adapter.

You need a circular filter that moves with the focus system.
The parallel filter will work but can give an uneven image as the filter is meant to stay square on to the lens.
Go for as good a filter as you can afford, look at eBay and seven day shop .com for one

I bought a used nikon coolpix 8700, and when I use the lens adapter with a filter or a lens and the zoom all together I receive an lens error message, I'm worried the camera is broke and I spent $300.00 with a short warranty time so I need to find out, I'll be very grateful for answer!

This camera doesn't appear to take filters since the lens retracts.
If the lens error goes away without the adapter and filter I'd say don't use either - leave the lens as it's was designed to be.

You may be getting the error because the adapter and filter aren't allowing the lens to retract completely.

I have a Fujifilm S2000HD and am interested in a bit of advancced photography. I heard that even non-threaded camera's can be threaded via use of an adapter. However, I am from India, and cannot find this adapter anywhere. Can anyone please advise me where I can get an adapter (if it is possible) for my camera from India or USA? A rubberised filter too, would do. Any home made solutions anyone?

The only filters that will help you with "advanced photography" is either a polarizing filter or ND filter.

Fujifilm does not list any filter attachment in the accessories for this camera

Some black gaffers tape might do the job, but rotating the polarizing filter to get the maximum effect could be problematic

To truly explore "advanced photography" you will need to think about buying a proper DSLR were like photographers world wide, can be controlled by the user and not dependent upon designers at Fujifilm

I'm about to buy a Sony SR11 HD Camcorder which I understand has a 37mm lens. I'm going to be recording on a microscope which has an attachment for the camcorder of either 25mm on the outside of the rim, and the camcorder has 37mm on the inside. I found an adapter for 25mm to 37mm but it's the other way around. I'm new with this stuff so I don't really know much, but I would need something like this but the other way around:

You need s Stepper Ring which "steps" up or down from one screw filter size to the other. Companies like Jessops do them - or any major online photographic business.
