Finepix 12mp

I am looking for a good but inexpensive digital SLR. I am looking on Ebay and Craigslist, because I cannot afford to buy new and still afford to get the lenses and accessories to go with it. At first I was looking at getting a Nikon or a Canon. I have always been a Nikon person and I know they make the best lenses, but the body of the camera is so expensive. And Canons aren't far behind as far as price is concerned. So, someone was telling me that the Fuji Finepix S2 Pro takes Nikon lenses, and even though it is only a 6mp, it can be interpolated to a 12mp.

My question is for anyone that knows anything about this particular camera. Anyone that has used one, owns one or has owned one in the past.

How does this camera compare to other digital SLR cameras? I have heard that it outshines the Nikon D100. How does the interpolating thing work? How can a 6mp camera perform like a 12mp? If anyone has any examples of pictures taken with this camera, it would be awesome!

No not that particular camera. However I have two Fuji digital cameras and both are excellent.

I'd recommend Fuji right along with Canon and Nikon any day of the week.

Which is the better performer? I have narrowed my list to these two; I own a DMC-FZ28 but want a small, compact camera for my wife.
Have read good reviews on both, have seen some disparate opinions (Steve's Digicams, DPReview, dcresource.com, etc etc) and am looking for some input from someone knowledgable in this class who can give me some valuable insight (please, noone just tell me "the Fuji has 12MP versus 7 with the Sony)
Looking for thoughts on image quality, shooting performance (start up, shot to shot, low light performance), and overall bang for the buck. I can pick up either on eBay presently for about the same price.
Anyone have experience with both, perchance? Input appreciated

I also own a Sony A700 but it is a big camera to lug around all the time. I wanted something small that I could throw in my purse to carry all the time. This camera is wonderful. I get great shots in all kinds of light, the pictures are clear, close-ups are amazing, it's fast and the battery lasts a long time. The only thing that I would change to make it even better, is more optical zoom.

I had a sanyo Xacti and it took amazing pictures! and mine was only a 10 MP. but it also took HD video.. but overall I loved it over any other camera I've ever had, excluding my DSLR of course

I'm looking for a new camera, the one i had before was a sony which lasted long and had a great quality. I asked my cousin who is a photographer which was the best brand and she said nikon and canon, which i don't really know well, so i wanna read a few advices. I'm looking for a small camera, $150 max., great quality, bright colors in the pictures, good features, and that the batteries last long, also i want to know about the memory cards, so which is the best brand for you? and which camera do you recommend me (not necessarily from the list)? What do you think about Lumix, Kodaks, Fuji and others?

I know that expensive doesn't mean better so these cameras are from 90 to 150..

Just pick any one and go clicking. The slight difference in features for these cameras would not matter much. But if I have to choose a cam under $100, it would definitely be Canon A480. It takes great macro shots. Just love that cam. Do take a look at the review.
