What about a polaroid back? I am not looking for anything besides the 501, standard 80mm lens, a 120 back and a Polaroid back (all used)-- I just want some sort of standard to go by before I shop around.
Depending on condition anywhere between US$1000 and 2500.
Using Hasselblad lenses with a Nikon DSLR
I have a Hasselblad and would love a fisheye lens for it, however they are too expensive.
I was talking to another photographer and he told me that some people convert large format fisheye lens to fit their hassleblad. They would use this as a cheaper alternative.
He didn't however have anymore info on the subject... Does anyone know where I can read up on this...or do you have expierence modifying good lens to fit hasselblads?
Thanks
barcovago...yes done that...
They suggested I make enquires online hence this question.
Try these people here.....
http://www.kievusa.com/ - They have a 30mm Fish Eye for 6x6 film and it's made to fit the Hassy's. However, they be Russian but I have sold these cameras before and while they are NOT a Hasselblad, they are a fair to good copy, they work and they be thousands cheaper than a Hassy...
What your asking will cost you more in the long run than it is worth, with all the potential machine work, adapters being made and running around. Besides, I have NEVER heard of a large format lens being cheap. On my 4x5 cameras, a 90mm is "wide angle" somewhat equal to a 28mm on a 35mm body. You would need to find a 4x5 lens in the 40 to 50mm size to have what you seek. (47mm being the accepted norm for a fish eye on this size film).
Again, try these guys....

Russian optics are not too shabby and you can save a LOT of $$ by giving them a try. Their fit and finish is often a tad crude, the metal parts not as finely finished as anyone else, but at 1/4 the cost, who cares.

I think it depends on which professionals you are talking about. Most professionals are working in news, stock, some weddings and celebrity photography, and in those cases, dSLRs are the best choice, like from Canon and Nikon. But if you are talking studio photography and weddings, primarily, then I think yes, the Hasselblad system with Zeiss lenses holds a special place for those pros. Things have changed in the last few years, though, due to the transition to digital.
Hasselblad's newest cameras do not use Zeiss lenses, but those made by Fujinon. And they are outstanding.
I've personally used a 503cw with Zeiss lenses and it is very very nice equipment, and of course very expensive. I'm hoping to see digital backs for these cameras come down further in price, and when they do, there will probably be thousands sold because there are countless 500-series cameras out there.
Good working order but could use a cleaning
I'd check KEH for details. Don't rule out Bronica, Mamiya, or some of the other medium format cameras. They are really nice as well and usually not so expensive.
The 500c body can be had for about $179 USD
The 80mm f2.8 lens ranges between $380 and $616 USD depending on its condition.
Wow, just think of the money you will save on filters !!!!!!
Great idea, I might go and try that too !!!
