does anyone know how good of a camera the kodak easyshare m341 is?

"how good of a camera "? You must be American, only Americans can torture language with such indifference. As an American I suppose that you want a camera that will shoot in low light - clubs etc. This one won't do it. It is not a good camera at all, in fact it is packaged junk - it has very mediocre performance.

When buying a pocket compact the lower megapixel sensors perform far better than the higher ones. A seven or eight megapixel compact will out perform a ten or twelve megapixel. The 341 has a pixel density of 43 MP per square centimetre and that is appalling. If you really must have a twelve megapixel camera, an older version, the '08 release V1273 will far outperform it, and the V1073 will do better again. The V1073 has 24 MP per square centimetre and an eleven megapixel sensor.

Go to http://www.dpreview.com and look for those cameras that have low MP/cm2 values. They will be the better cameras - the high megapixel sensors are just marketing to catch suckers - they don't work as well as the lower values.

Is the Kodak M341 good for me?

Ok, just got Kodak EasyShare M341. I am an amateur photographer and already have a Lumix DMC-FZ28. I take artistic photos such as the ones at jddr.weebly.com and want to know if the M341 would be good for me. (This way I won't have to carry around the bigFZ28)

I think if you want to invest in a top of the line point and shoot, you need to go with the canon powershot g11. That is what journalists use when they are on location and don't want to carry around a big slr camera. The reason why this camera is so great is because it allows you much better control of your camera settings than lets say a kodak easy share. But I started off with a small sony point and shoot, and I took some great images with it as well, so it's up to you.

here is an example of a image I took with my sony,

It's just harder to get great images with a low end camera, because of the lack of control.

What do you think of a Kodak EasyShare M341 Camera?

I would never buy a Kodak, because I have heard from FAR too many people who are unhappy with theirs.

Here is some general wisdom for you to start with:

At least 10 - 30 times a day someone on YA asks: "Which one is a good camera to buy?"
A quick search would have given you hundreds of replies, but once again here is my 10 cents on the subject:

Point & Shoot cameras are wonderfully handy because of their small size.
When light conditions are ideal, they even take really nice photos - all of them do.

However, they all DO have limitations - they don't do very well in low light situations (i.e. noisy photos, hard to avoid blur, etc). The little onboard flash is very harsh at close range, and doesn't reach very far.
Many of them have no manual functions, so you are limited to only very basic photos, you can't compensate for unusual situations, or do many fun "tricks" and special effects.
P&S's also suffer from frustrating shutterlag and many of them chew through batteries rather quickly.

However, if you're ok with all those limitations, then go ahead and pick one, most of them (the same type and same price range) are rather similar. Personally I would pick either a Canon or a Nikon, and would certainly stay away from Kodak.

A higher end P&S will give you more manual options and better quality. Many of those even give you the option of adding a proper flash (which makes a big difference to your flash photos).

Don't worry too much about megapixels…. there is a limit to how many pixels you can squash into a tiny P&S sensor before you actually LOSE quality rather than gain it.
Don't worry about digital zoom, in fact, don't EVER use it. It simply crops away pixels, i.e. destroys information. The only real zoom is optical.

Decide which features are important to you, and look for cameras that have that feature.
Then go compare a few models on www.dpreview.com .

The very best thing you can do for your success is to borrow some books and learn about photography. A bit of knowledge will make a much bigger difference to your photos than your choice of P&S camera can.

For what it's worth - if I was in the market for a P&S camera right now, my choice would be a Canon Powershot SX20 IS http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/contro ller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=14 4&modelid=19208

Kodak m341 easyshare won't connect to computer?

I just got a new camera and it works perfectly, but for the first time when I tried to add it, it said "Windows needs to install driver software for your KODAK M341 digital camera" One of the options says "Locate and Install driver software" I clicked it and it said "Access is denied" It said there is an error while attempting to install it. I've tried making it work several of times. I put in the disc that came with my camera and the disc says "kodak easyshare software". it still doesn't work.
What can I do to add the photos to my computer?

Access denied tells us that your user profile does not include permission to install anything, drivers, software or other external items.

If your computer has a memory card reader on it, just use that to read the card and copy the image files to your computer. Otherwise you will have to get your IT professional to install the correct drives for you ... if they can without violating company policy

At home, use the card reader on the computer or buy a USB 2.0 card reader (about $10)

what is the better camera kodak easyshare m341 or nikon coolpix s230??? plz leave feedback?

There are three world leaders in consumer technology - Canon, Nikon and Fuji in that order.
You'll notice that Kodak is not one of them. Nuff said?

Now you can stop thinking about camera settings and start shooting. The M341 has everything you need to take beautiful pictures - automatically.Get a good look at your pictures on the large 2.7 inches color LCD. Whether you shoot your pictures vertically or horizontally, view them right side up with auto picture rotation. The M341 is part of the Kodak EASYSHARE system, so sharing your pictures is amazingly simple. Just press share. I picked up one of these Kodak jobs and was pleased. It had a really good macro, shoots nice video, and has all the stuff I need except for an SD card. You will have to buy one since the camera has limited memory. But it can take up to a 32 gig card. Amazing. The battery seems to have lots of juice too, which is always a problem for small compact cameras. The colors from the software are good. I hate having to photoshop images, and this has a nice color balance. Good flash too.
