I currently have an XP Deskjet 5600 Series (HPA) printer. Would it be worth it to switch to the Kodak ESP 7 All-in-One printer? I've heard you spend a lot less on ink, and it's also a copy machine as well as a scanner.
What do you think?
I think it depends on how much you print with your printer. If you're going through a cartridge or more per month - then it would definitely be worth considering. The ink cartridges for the Kodak ESP's are only $9.99 for the blacks and $14.99 for the color. It looks like the cartridges for your HP printer run about $55 for a black/color combo - so with the Kodak printers you would be able to buy 2 packs for the same price. It might not be a true 'double the number of prints' but you definitely will have a lower cost per page.
Currently, the ESP 5 looks like it is discounted to $149.99 and might fit all your needs better than the 7 - unless you want the wi-fi printing and duplex capabilities.

I put the memory card into the slot that goes into the printer. I hit the start button to start scanning and it did start the scanning. But it's been over a half hour now and it still hasn't given me any conformation on the completion of the scan. Is there any way I can scan multiple documents from my Kodak ESP 7 AIO directly to my computer or onto the memory card without having the USB 2.0 cable?

ESP Print head Tutorial at Kodak, you will have to buy a new print head,
I am thinking about getting a kodak esp 7 all in one printer mainly because ink is very cheap. I have heard though that they do not hold much ink and the printing quality is not that great.
I am not going to use it for pictures, I just want to use it to make regular prints like for school work and other stuff.
I also need it to be wireless.
(I want it to be wireless because our router is in the study and I would like to print on our laptop from my room)
Are kodak printers for me?
Do they hold enough ink to gt my money's worth? (I do not print a whole lot, just enough for school mainly)
Are there any other printers that are better?
If they are they would need to be in the same price range, wireless, and the ink has to be CHEAP.
Thanks
yes

Muffin Tin Mom: HP C6380 vs. Kodak ESP 7 Closing Comments (Part 6)
When I print photos from home, it is going to cost me more money than if I were to have them printed off at say, Costco. So, when I print from home, I want to make sure there are as few problems as possible. When the Kodak printed sub-par photos that I didn't want to give away or frame, that was money down the drain. When the Kodak printed out blank paper or half of the photo, that was money down the drain. That never happened with the HP. I could always count on the HP to print quality photos and documents every time. Kodak's claims of $110 of savings per year on ink doesn't hold up, in my opinion. I've seen the infomercial. Cheap ink begot lesser quality photos in my experience that did not hold up under rigorous testing. I also was able to find the HP C6380 on sale for a considerable cost savings up front, as well as saving through Staples Rewards program which gives a $3 staples credit for each ink cartridge no matter the size. Why would I pay the same the amount for a lesser printer...
