i am trying to connect a kodak printer to a wireless router

If you have a USB connector on your router, as mine does, it should work, but you may have to look at your router documentation for the setup. You will need to install the printer drivers on each machine in the network to use the printer.

hi, i have a new laptop compaq presario a935em it has built in wireless and i would like to run my printer from it, on kodak web it shows that by simply plugging "their" usb bluetooth i can use it by adding the last four digits of the serial no of printer, do i have to use kodaks b/tooth or will anyone do? or is it not as simple as that, thanks, johnboy!

"Wireless" (WiFi, like wireless internet access) is not "Bluetooth"...

Your laptop may or may not have built-in bluetooth, probably not...

Kodak's drivers are so completely proprietary and suck so bad, that if you expect to have ANY chance of printing, get the kodak bluetooth adapter, because chances are nothing else is going to work.
If kodak would get their heads out of their Arses, they could probably have a decent printer, but as it stands their support is absolutely atrocious, probably among the worst in the industry.

there is a kodak usb wireless adapter you can buy so yes


though I think that is bluetooth so you would need bluetooth on the pc

or there is a usb device server that works

I just bought a kodak wireless printer but it won't let me connect to it because I don't know what the security string is of my network. How do I do about finding this out?

You may or may not be able to see the string as text when you log into your router security settings. It often displays as security text so it can not be read. It will tell you the security type however (WEP, WPA, WPA-P, WPA2, etc)

If you had someone else setup your wireless network and you did not request a particular password, the default security string that they would use is the serial number of the router, located on the back or bottom of the router. Enter that entire serial number and that should do the trick.

I just purchased the printer, but how do I connect the printer to my dell laptop and make it wireless. I have the Qwest modem and my laptop has the wireless card installed. Do I still need to connect the printer to the modem? I hate having all those cables hanging, that's why I purchased the printer.

you will need a wireless printer adapter and a wireless router and a wireless home network.then follow the instructions in your kodak printer manual for hook up instructions.email me the name and model of your kodak printer and i will be able to help you out further.i have given you a link from the hp site just to give you some idea on what you will need,it is a video.
