Hi i received a kodak easyshare z1485. but without the charger.
and i wanted to know if i could charge it somehow by just plugging it in to my computer
You should be able to but it will take some time if you're going to use the PC.
I would suggest you to get a new charger.
Who says you can't have it all? The Kodak EasyShare Z1485 IS Digital Camera blends the latest picture-taking technology with the ultimate ...
I just bought a pink, 14-megapixel z1485 IS Kodak camera. Problem is, every time I go to take a picture, the screen is black.
No, there's no lenses in the way. Yes, batteries are perfect and charged. Yes, there's a memory card-- and no, there's no sticker or anything in the way.
Help?
Maybe you should get a refund if you want. Or an exchange. Or you maybe wanna call the Kodak Company and ask them. Good Luck!

Will I notice any shutter lag with the Kodak EASYSHARE Z1485 IS?
It is not sold locally, so I can't go test it out.
Will it catch basic scenes like: fireworks at night, basketball games (action shots), festivals, etc. with ease and without any noticeable lag?
The shutter lag is a characteristic of all point-n-shoot cameras - some delay more than others. It can take up to a second after you press the button for the shutter to trip. You can shorten that by turning off the "red-eye" feature, but you'll have to move to a digital SLR to eliminate the lag. Basketball games or concerts would be hard to shoot without a good external flash, since the small internal flash of most point-n-shoot cameras is good up to about 10 feet.
After taking a few pictures on my camera, the camera dies out of battery. I need to know what batteries are the best and what i should do to save the battery.
what batteries are you currenly using? I don't recommend energizer they don't last, nor do I recommend store brand, they don't last either. I recommend duracell or rayovac.
Canon one is 10.1 mega pixel and Kodak one is 14.2 mega pixel but price of both the products is nearly same. I am an amateur in photography so suggest me something useful.?
Canon Canon CAnon
i sell cameras and i only buy canon
kodak always come back faulty, canon never do
in Australia where i am all major tv stations use canon and so do photographers at football etc
Quality of Kodak is NOWHERE near Canon.
The sensor in Canons are better so a 10mp will produce a better image than Kodaks 14mp (and realistically no-one needs 14mp) and Canon are the only one to have OPtical Image Stabiliser (antishake) which is a spirit level in the lens that shifts the sensor the opposite way to which your hand is shaking when the picture is taken to avoid blur (so technically the sensor is still when image is taken)
Kodak just use software to enhance and remove blur.
I have a Canon and a Kodak rep gave me a camera to try for a few weeks to try swap me over, but its CRAP!!!
