How does one rewind the film from a Konica C35 EFP camera?
Konica C35A + Velvia 50 expirado

I recently found a Konica C35 EFP camera. My only problem is that I am not exactly sure how to manually rewind the film. I don't want to play around with it too much because I do not want to ruin the pictures I took.
Thank you.

There is a small button underneath the camera you need to press to disengage the film wind mechanism, press this and you can rewind the film back into the cassette.

Heres the manual for your camera.

does anyone know anything about these cameras, where to find a manual or how to clean them? thanks a million!

Previous answer as to how to clean it is spot on. You can download manuals at the link below. Your particular camera is not listed but the c35 or c35efp should be close enough to give you an overview.

what battery do i use for the Konica C35 camera.
Konica C35A + Velvia 50 expirado

I know that you use the really small round battery but I heard that you need to use a specific type or else it doesnt work for the camera.

1.3v PX675 mercury battery....because of its constant power supply to the camera, it is why other batteries cannot work on this Konica C35 camera, it is for the very first production of the Konica C35 series.
Due to environment safety, mercury battery is very hard to find and later, they will extinct in the market. Your C35 camera will become an antique.
Anyway, Konica C35.. are very popular in the market, and I do not know what series that you are holding, I append here the website of the Konica C35 camera batteries for your reading:-

It may helps you to look for a sepcific type of batteries for your Konica C35 camera instead of the mercury battery.

Konica C35 light meter help?
Konica C35A + Velvia 50 expirado

I recently picked up a Konica C35. It came with a mercury battery that died fairly quickly. It was rusted so i guess it has been there for a while but the light meter was working perfectly.

I picked up some zinc air hearing aid 675 to replace it as it is said the camera will function with that particular battery.

I replaced the battery and the light meter always reads 'under exposed' when the environment i was in was clearly bright enough to be over exposed. Some times it's the over way round (i.e. reads over exposed but is under exposed)

Does the light meter fail because of the battery or because of the camera?

Note: the battery compartment is free from rust & seems to be in good condition.

Battery: 675 Zinc Air 1.4v

My first thought is that the zinc air battery is causing the problem. I'm surprised that it has been suggested as suitable. Those batteries deliver a very low current for a long period of time. If you use them momentarily for a higher current than they are designed for, then the voltage drops right down and they take a while to recover. In desperation I used some once in a film SLR camera. I had to wait one minute between shots, though they were powering the shutter too.

Which C35 do you have. The original C35 has no other markings. The C35A has a badge saying 'automatic' on the front. The C35V has a little badge on the front with 'V' on it. The C35FD has 'auto S3' below the Konica nameplate.

Edit: My camera was probably pulling a lot more current from the zinc-airs than the C35. Also you're not supposed to stack them apparently, which I was. They do seem to be powering at least some C35 cameras just fine (see ref).

Apparently A76 alkalines are sometimes used too. The voltage is higher than the original mercury battery so there wil be a risk here. The reference suggests this may be OK provided there is a voltage regulator in the camera. The earlier C35 cameras did not have one.

Hope this helps. If I've just found a bunch of stuff you knew already, my apologies. At least I know a bit more now.

is the konica c35 counted as a toy camera?

i found one in my parents' closet i was just wondering if i can use it for lomo

Depends.........

With all the digital gear out there, film cameras are used less and less. If you're looking for the immediate gratification of digital, then the C35 may not be for you.

On the other hand, if you want to have some fun......you have stumbled accross a good rangefinder camera. Here are some examples of what the camera is capable of......

It may look like a toy, but the camera is very capable of delivering good quality results.

If you do use it and find that rangefinder cameras are to your liking, here is another good site....

I started using these types of cameras a few years ago and have had quite a bit of fun.

Good luck if you choose to use the camera.
