These symbols are standard on all cameras.
P(program Auto-Exposure), you choose the ISO and exposure compensation.
A (Aperture priority), you manually select the aperture and the camera automatically sets the shutter speed (and ISO if auto-Iso is selected) to obtain the required exposure.
If you don't understand what these things mean, then just use P or the square symbol (100% automatic) until you learn.

There are no electrical contacts in the extension tubes. Exposure has to be adjusted manually. Aperture control is not available if you use a lens which does not allow you to manually adjust the aperture (without an aperture ring).
