What is the difference between these two cameras? I have a 7000i (I think aka Dynax) but almost everything online talks about the 7000.
Is that it? All others lenses etc are fully compatible?
The 7000i added:
Faster and more sensitive AF
Faster film advancement
A new flash shoe that was incompatible with older flash units
Supported the Minolta AF lens system
Introduced the "Expansion Card System" which was a precursor to today's innumerable "Scene Modes" found in most digital cameras. This was an early attempt to save the novice photographer from having to actually learn anything about f-stops and shutter speeds and EV.
Minolta Maxxum camera commercial from 1986.
It has a maxxum 35-70mm Zoom lens 1:4 + maxxum 2800 auto flash. Can someone tell me what this would be worth?
recently completed auctions on ebay have ended anywhere between $30-100 for camera body, lens and flash. It would probably depend on the quality of the items, but hopefully that will give you a ballpark estimate.
ok, i just bought a minolta maxxum 7000 AF camera and there was some corrosion in the battery compartment. what can i do to clean it. oh and the battery compartment can be taken OUT of thr camera completely. also are lithium batteries acceptable to use in this camera?
Brush off as much of the powder as you can with a stiff brush.
Make a solution of baking soda and "paint" it on the metallic parts. Use clean water to rinse the solution off the compartment and reapply until the bubbling stops.
Rinse in clean water and thoroughly dry. Using a pencil eraser, rub the contacts until they are shinny and there is no corrosion left on them.
Look inside the camera and make sure there is no corrosion in it. If there is get it out.
The manual says the lithium battery should last years, so that would indicate yes. What does your manual say?
Price: $19.95
I have a camra for client that I have never really worked with before and I am not sure of how to fix it.Is there any way of finding out what the problem is?
I'd send it to a certified Minolta repair place. These days, I would not trust camera repair to just anyone. It's far more complicated than it used to be, with all the delicate electronics needing sterile environments and computer calibrated equipment for repair.
I recently found one that was just laying in the attic doing nothing and I would love to use it. However, it's confusing me quite a bit. Could you tell me what you know about it and/or how to use it efficiently?
It looks exactly like this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minolta_Max xum_7000
It's a fine camera.. Clean it up and use it. Here's the manual:

Haze Lens
Which one you guys think is better?
1. Hoya HMC Haze UV(0) – Filter – UV – 67 mm
2. B & W 67mm UV (Ultra Violet) Haze Multi Coated (2C) Glass Filter
Both these filters are well reviewed by Amazon customers. When you choose an expensive filter over a cheap one, you’re looking for construction details and optical quality. A lesser filter might not hold up as well or could add some unwanted effects to your photos.
Absorbs the ultraviolet rays which often makes outdoor photographs hazy and indistinct. A general use filter for Digital and Video cameras as well as color or black and white films. As it is made of optical glass and will enhance image quality, most photographers leave it on the lens at all times to serve as a lens protector…. Kit includes: 1) Sigma 55-200mm DC Telephoto Zoom Lens; 2) Sigma Spudz Microfiber Cleaning Cloth; 3) Hoya 55mm UV Protector Filter. ♦ Sigma 55-200mm Lens includes: Front...
