Minolta

My family has owned a Minolta X-300 MD 50mm 1:1.7 Japan 049mm for as long as I can remember, yet no one uses it. I don't know how to give it a battery or what type of film it takes. Any help?

Film: standard 35mm film. That's print film, slide film, B&W film.

batteries: use a coin to open the little battery cover (it looks like a mini manhole cover with a slot). Take 2 standard MS-76 silver oxide batteries or 1 lithium CR 1/3N.

My grandparents just gave me a minolta 35 mm camera. I've loaded it with film, but it won't wind, and it says "off" right beside the shutter speed dial. How do i turn it on? I just put new watch batteries in it. Is there a button to press? What am i missing here?

What is the model of your Minolta 35mm camera?

You should be able to advance the film without turning it on. The batteries are just for the meter and shutter operation. Turn it on, try activating the shutter button and then advancing. If the shutter does not actuate then you have a problem or the battery is low/wrong kind.

(You should at least see red LED lights in the viewfinder when the camera is on and you press the shutter button.)

Since everyone is buying digital cameras these days, what is the best way for me to sell my older 35mm Minolta camera with a zoom lens and some attachments? Who would be most interested in such a camera?

You'll get the most $$ on eBay.

If the lens is an off-brand (like Makinon) sell it with the camera as it's practically worthless.

If it's a Minolta lens sell it in a separate listing. Same with Minolta flashes and other name-brand items.

You can also try craigslist and kijiji but in my experience auction is less hassle and nets you more bucks.

I had a minolta X-g1 camera, which was destroyed, and I several different lenses. can I use these leses with any other camera?

You can buy adapters to use your MC/MD mount Minolta lenses on the Olympus DSLR cameras, the Canon DSLR cameras and of course the Sony DSLR cameras.

Please note that you'll have to use stop-down metering as there is no meter coupling/connection between the MC/MD lenses and the modern DSLR bodies listed.

I have a Konica Minolta Page Pro 1350 and use compatible cartridges rather than the Konica Minolta brand, which are more expensive. But I'm now getting messages on the display that say "it isn't a genuine Konica." and it won't print but one page before I have to push a button to make it continue. It's driving me batty.
Is there anything I can do to override this message display?? Help!

Use a genuine toner.
They cost a bit more for a reason, they are specifically designed to work on the hardware and have the CORRECT toner powder in it.

TONER is NOT all the same, different grades, sizes of grain, etc etc etc-

Use the RIGHT toner for the machine, it will last better
