I have a nikon 8008s camera with three lens for it. If I buy a new nikon digital camera will these lens work on the new camera?
Lenses for an F801/8008 would all be Ai or AF/AF-D. They would almost certainly NOT be AF-I/AF-S (the F801/8008 can't operate the autofocus motor in AF-I/AF-S lenses). They would mount on any Nikon digital body.
The two gotchas would be:
1. Ai lenses (except for the fairly uncommon Ai-P lenses which are actually AF-D lenses without autofocus) would get no metering on anything except the D1/2/3 or D200/300/700.
2. AF/AF-D lenses would not autofocus on a D40/D40x/D60
Another important thing to note: Except on a D3/D700 all your film lenses will behave like longer lenses on digital bodies, due to the 1.5x crop factor of the smaller sensor.
Experience even closer encounters with Nikons Coolpix P90, with 12.1 effective megapixels and an incredible 24x optical Zoom-NIKKOR ED glass lens ...
The Lenses I have are:
Nikon AF 70-210mm f/4-5.6 D Zoom-Nikkor
Nikon AF 35-70mm f/2.8D
Could they be adapted to a new Nikon digital camera? If so, what models?
Also, would it be possible to somehow use an adapter to put them onto the Cannon Digital Rebel XT?
Thanks.
I currently have used my older Nikon AF lenses with success on my D50, D70, and D200 with no problem. The only exceptions to that full compatibility rule would be the current D40, D40x, or D60, as they lack the internal autofocus motor and must be manually focused.
Right now, my long tele of choice is an older Nikon 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 AF Nikkor. There are zero compatibility problems with my current digitals. This is one of Nikon's strong points, as there is a longer history of compatibility than almost any other DSLR maker.

Just a reminder, except for the new D3, with it's full-frame sensor, all other Nikon DSLR's have a 1.5 crop factor, effectively giving your lenses different perspectives in the digital world. Your 70-210mm becomes a 105-315mm and your 35-70mm, becomes a 53-105mm.
As for your last question, yes, you can use an adaptor for a "Canon" XT.
Hope this helps.
I want to buy the new camer that just came out. I saw a commercial where ashton is looking at the pics by gliding them with his fingers on the screen. Which camera is that and were can i get it? How much does it run for? Has anybody used it yet?
The Nikon Coolpix S60.
It's between £179 and £279. Prices varied in google shopping. :L
No, I haven't used it, but I haven't heard much good about it... :S
As for the Nikon S230 (Around £190), it's a great little camera. Great Image quality, fun to use. Highly recomended.
The "What Digital Camera" Review gave the S230 as follows.
Design-18/20
Image Quality-18/20
Performance-17/20
Value-16/20
Features-19/20
Overall-87%
Hope this helps. :)

How old they are is important. The answer is that any lens made to the AI specification or later (1977 on) can be mounted on the digital bodies unless it is one of the relatively rare F3AF lenses. The extent to which modern lens or camera functions work will then vary with lens/body combinations.
There are then oddities. The D40/D40x is the only digital body that can mount the earlier Nikkor pre-AI lenses made between 1959 and 1977, but not the F3AF lenses. It is compatible with the widest range of Nikkor lenses, but does not provide any exposure metering with the manual focus lenses. (The F4 is the only body that can accept the whole range of Nikkor lenses from 1959 on, including the latest G and VR specs lenses. VR lenses will auto-focus on F4, but the body does not support the VR itself.)
Without knowing more about what lenses you have and what digital bodies you might be contemplating, it is difficult to be more precise. I have included a link to the Nikonians site which has a table with the details. Similar information is available from Nikon if you search their knowledge base in the support area, it is just more difficult to find.
i am looking for a new digital camera and i'm am not sure what is best for me. i shake really bad, so i need the image stabilization thing. and i am looking for a digital camera, not one of the big photography ones. something that takes sharp, good day and night pictures would be really nice. but the big thing is something that takes reaaaaaaaally sharp pictures that are not grainy. i know nikon is good, cause my mom has one of the photography cameras and it is amaaaaaaaazing. but too much and too big for me. any helppp?
ps. i am looking for something new, like off their website.
actually the "big photography" ones are not really big, Nikon has few entry level DSLRs which are really small, D40/40x, and D60, and they have VR (vibration reduction) on the lens.
by the way, shake may due to how you hold your camera, keep your arms/elbow right next to your body will help.
