Nikon Coolpix S60

I'm getting a Nikon coolpix camera and it only comes with the real low watt battery so i was looking for where i could buy a 1000mAh battery. Does anyone know any sites or stores that have the right battery compatible for the Nikon coolpix s60 camera?

I have a Nikon Coolpix S60 and my flash is way to bright. Is there a way I can reduce the bright flash? It also seems to only take clear pictures when it wants to when the lighting isn't perfect. Is there anyway I can fix these problems? I am actually not very pleased with this camera since I've gotten it last year and am looking into another one if I can't get this one to improve.

Regards the flash being too bright... It's a common problem if you are shooting in "dingy" environments. By default almost all cameras will in "dingy" environments flash too bright! The trick is if your camera has an "EV" setting to try adjusting that prior to taking your photos. It should allow you to get the atmosphere correct.

As to taking clear photos using a tripod indoors may not be practical, but you can try steadying yourself against walls, pillars etc. Oh and try to make sure you are getting the focus locked on the correct element of the scene - If necessary you need to point the camera directly at the object you want to focus on and half press the shutter release. Then while keeping the shutter release half pressed compose your image.

I hope that helps, it's the best I can suggest. I'm not a fan of the Nikon S60 it has similar issues to Sony's T-series compacts. I'm afraid more conventional compact cameras (Nikon included) tend to produce better results.

can u tell me abut Nikon coolpix s60 digital camera dose it have good picture quality. I have read on some forums that is not good is this true im thinking abut to buy one.

Nikon in my experience is not the best for those type of cameras.
I would recommend Panasonic Lumix becuase they can give you some of the sharpest quality images I would recommend the TZ5 if your interested. Also Lumix has some budget models that are pretty good for a good price!

hi i really want the nikon coolpix S60 touchscreen 10 megapixel digital camera. its like $340 which is too much are there any places in new york city( like circut city, radioshack,etc.) that are reputable and will have that camera brand new on sale?? thanks so much!!

I always check J&R (Park Row, across from City Hall) against B&H (9th Avenue and 34th Street). They both have full service websites, so you can compare prices before you go.

However, the last time I bought a digital camera, I found the best price at Amazon.com, so don't rule them out.

I find tech items at Circuit City and Radio Shack to be consistently overpriced. Best Buy doesn't always have the "best buy", but they almost always can beat Circuit City's price.
