I just got this camera today (its awesome), but i want to try a technique called light painting, which requires a low shutter speed, but i cant find a way to change it, anybody know? So far ive just lowered the iso all the way to 80 and made it a continuous shot but i only have about 3/4 a second to draw.
Since your camera does NOT have either aperture or shutter priority modes, you are out of luck
All you can do it try to "trick" your camera to use specific shutter speeds.
Capture images and video to SD/SDHC memory cards (not included)
14.1-megapixel CCD sensor for stunning images; 5x wide-angle optical Zoom-Nikkor ED glass lens
HD (720p) Movie with Stereo and HDMI Output
You can't do that with your camera. What you CAN do is to take separate exposures, then combine them in post processing on your computer.
Unless you mean taking several photos in fast succession, like as in burst mode?
In that case, try reading your user manual - it will tell you how to do it (IF you have such a setting).

my dad is turning 40 on november 26.
i only have 60 bucks.
is it possible that i can pay it in monthly or weekly payments?
you've got 2 work that out w/ best buy.
Like what would make the camera work at its best?
If it uses an SD card, the best u can get ( what I use in my high-reg and high speed DSLR) is a SanDisk Extreme III, they are very fast and even have processing ability, however they cost around 60-70 bucks
