NIKON D3000??????????????

I am still looking into cameras(looked at D40-D50-D60) and just started looking at a D3000. This seems to be a much better body than any of the other 3 and I cannot figure out what the issues are. I mean, D3000 seems so much better and not much more in cost. Any one explain it simply please? PS< sorry for the question marks but yahoo demands I fill some space, the fools!

What is the best camera setting for my nikon d3000 at a concert?

I am going to watch Miley Cyrus in concert tomorrow at the MEN arena. I am taking my Nikon D3000 camera with me but don't know which settings to have it on for the best possible photo's. Can anyone help me?


Most concerts do not allow DSLRs. You could be turned away at the gate. Take a smaller camera.

How can I view the live image on the Nikon D3000&#39;s screen?

I just bought the Nikon D3000 yesterday and was wondering if there is a setting where I can see the live view on the screen instead of having to look into the viewer. I'm used to my point and shoot digital camera where I just look on the screen and take a picture. How do I set the Nikon D3000 to do that as well?

You can't. D3000 does not have this feature.
But the good news is, once you start getting a hang of the excellent optical viewfinder D3000 has, you will find out, that you don't even need it in about 95% of the cases! You'll remember all those years you held a camera on extended hands in front of you and think of how in the would could you possibly have considered it comfortable or convenient!!!

You've made a great upgrade, welcome to the world of *real* cameras! Now it's time to dump the p&s stereotypes and get to learn how to use your new beautiful camera to the most of its potential! I suggest to read a book or two on photography art as well, and soon your friends will be jealous of the great pictures you'll be taking!

    So today I finally went out and bought myself a real camera, my first DSLR. I ended up getting the Nikon D3000. This picture was taken with my old Vivitar, the trusty yet crappy camera I’ve been using since way before this site existed. I know this main shot isn’t that great, which is a true testament to the quality of my old camera. All the rest of the pictures in this post are with the Nikon. I got myself a UV filter for my lens, a new lamp, some new bulbs and borrowed some equipment from my mom. I’ve all but burnt myself out today taking pictures since I got it. Expect my picture quality to increase as I experiment and learn. I haven’t done a real figure shoot with it yet, but I’ve taken plenty of random shots. I’ll share some of my shots from today with you now. Don’t worry there’s figures in the mix.

    I can’t wait for my own DSLR, seems like you went all trigger happy with photos. i know I would too as I would pretty much just test the camera any everything just to try it out. I fell in love with my friends D5000 after using it for 2 whole days.
