i realised once that my laptop had some water in the inside because it changed enviroments(humid to dry something like that), can that happen to a nikon d300s?
Yes, it can happen to anything. And if you think it has, remove the battery and give the camera a chance to dry out.

I'm planning on buying one of the two, but I can't figure out which one's the best. Looking at youtube videos, I found some great samples from Nikon, and some of equal greatness from Canon.
Is there anyone who has one of the cameras who can tell me what their pro/cons are?
I would go with the Nikon. Canon segregates their lenses in to two camps: cheap and crappy, and good but hugely expensive. Yes, nikon does make some entry level lenses, but on the whole, they are good and well made across the entire range. Images from Nikons also look better at high ISOs than canon's.

I am looking to make the best investment for my money, I have no lenses yet so im not limited to any particular brand. They each have their advantages, but I want to know which one is a more professional grade camera. Also, which one is easier to navigate and best for shooting raw? HD video does not matter to me at all.
It depends on what you are going to be shooting. I have been a Nikon girl since my first 35mm film camera and have always had beautiful results and stayed very loyal to the brand. I purchased the D300S as an upgrade to my D200. I photograph families and children and sometimes weddings, so my subjects are primarily people. The D300S does not handle reds well, which is a bad thing when you photograph people. I switched to a Canon 7D which is equally great in low light and gives beautiful, creamy skin tones.
I know some people love their D300's and I have even seen portrait photogs work that I really love that use that camera. But I would not ever look back on my decision.
As an owner of both (previous owner of D300s), I would suggest the 7D hands down.
3.0-inch LiveView LCD display , new 51-point AF system
EXPEED Image Processing System and similar Scene Recognition System to that found in the D3
3.0-inch LiveView LCD display; new 51-point AF system
I have the option of either buying a used D2x or a brand new D300s for the same price. What would you recommend?
New D300.
There have been vast improvements in noise, colour and other aspects.
The d2x was/is a good camera but I would go new and improved for that price.
Can somebody tell me that whether Nikon D300s will replace D300 & Nikon going to discontinue D300
Production of the D300 has already been discontinued. The D300s will replace the D300 in most vendors' catalogs once existing stocks have been depleted. In some cases they are selling both, side-by-side and offering a steep discount on the original D300. The same thing happened with the D70 when it was replaced by the D70s and later the D80 which has since been replaced by the D90.
This is a common practice among manufacturers. You'll find the same thing occured with successive models of Canon's X0D line of cameras from the 10D to today's 50D. It appears the new 7D however, may represent an entirely new line of cameras from the XXD series.

This is an excellent camera. It is flexible enough for use with the ability to quickly change the terms of use, such as ISO, focus, the World Bank and other settings without entering the menu. Images in the high range of ISO 2500-3200 are very good.
Quality 12MP pictures are exceptional.
Large images, the objective of 18 to 200 mm VR, is excellent and produces a pocket in difficult conditions such as speed and low light.
Great camera, a little “difficult and complicated for the average user. If you want a great camera, this. D300S has all the features of the older children have a half 1/5th the cost. This is a DX camera means that you have full frame sensor. The good news is that all my Nikon lenses work, as opposed to problems with a full frame Nikon. It’s not as hard as the more expensive Nikon and quickly as necessary. Can I use creativity in full compliance with this camera and get a picture without latency, as well as the place and shoot camera. 12.5 megapixels is a lot of pixels to work with big feet or small. Handle with batteries, you can not spend the whole day. It has two memory cards, one for picture and one for RAW is a great idea.
