I just bought a Nikon D60 from Costco. The battery charger MH-23 says "120V 60Hz", but in the box it also says "foreign input AC 110V ~ 240V 50Hz/60Hz". I am confused with this. Is this MH-23 charger able to use outside USA where 220V/50Hz is used?
Yes the charger can be used for both domestic and foreign voltages in the range listed You wold need a plug adapter to use it in other countries but the charger will work
This wonderful fast digital camera battery charger allows you to fully charge
Hi, i have a Nikon D60 and i would like to know whether there are any decent car chargers available. As i will be away for at least a week with no where to re-charge the battery so my only way would be by car.It would have to run of about 12V i think?. Or would it just be as easy to buy an extra battery, but from research the proper Nikon ones are around £40 on Amazon and i'm on a pretty low budget! and the ones' that aren't Nikon do not seen to be the best!.
Anyway thanks for reading!, any answers are appreciated.
Nikon doesn't make car chargers. You could get an inverter and use your house charger in your car though.
I am looking to upgrade my digital point-and-shoot to a digital SLR. For the type of photography that I enjoy, reviews point me in the direction of the Nikon D60. ShopDigitalDirect has some great package deals but when it comes to lenses I am lost. What is the difference between a Nikon lense and a Nikkor lense? Is the Nikkor a cheap knockoff? Also, the deals on ShopDigitalDirect don't look like they include a battery/charger. Does anyone know if this is the case?
First, let me tell you to NOT TRUST ShopDigitalDirect. They will not send all the pieces for the camera, they will sell you cameras that are not warranted, so if anything goes wrong, you are screwed. I have heard that they call you after you place the order and try to sell you overpriced accessories that are supposed to come with the camera. You will be much better off to shop a place like JR.com or even EBAY.
Nikkor lens are good in quality, not some cheap knockoff. In fact, I believe all of Nikon's new lens are labeled Nikkor (check their website). Nikkor was originally meant for high end lenses, but I guess they are making the Nikkor brand name for all their lenses (maybe to stand apart from older Nikon lenses??). Nikon lenses are usually a bit more expensive then their competitive counterparts such as Sigma and Tamron, with little to no difference in quality.
AC/DC output for both home and travel use. Collapsible plug on the back of wall charger.
Smart LED charging status indicator. Voltage: 100V - 240V. UL & CE listed.
NOTE: For a successful and safe charge of your battery, make sure to correctly align polarity before placing battery into charger
I'm Christmas shopping for a friend he just got a Nikon D60.
Any ideas for an affordable ($50 - $75) accessory?
Here is what he has already:
*18-55 lens with VR
*55-200 lens with VR
(both are auto focus)
*2 UV filters (one for each lens)
*1 filter with a hole in the middle for blurry edges
*1 battery
*SB 600 flash with 8 rechargeable batteries + charger
Any ideas you can provide would be great! Thanks!! :)
He might appreciate the 50mm f/1.8 lens which unlike his other two lenses is really great for low light because of the f/1.8 aperture. It also happens to be really cheap and really sharp. Its a great portrait lens. It is built cheaply to save on cost, so all you have to do is be careful with it. It really does take great pictures though.
Okay, so I have a Nikon D40. Heres the situation described briefly:
- Battery power was almost empty so I took it out
- Inserted it into charging cartidge thing
- The orange light on my charger stayed lit, indicating that the battery should have been FULLY charged
- Take battery out of charger and inserted battery into camera and switch it on
- Camera briefly turns on only to go blank because there is "low battery" power
What does this mean? Do you think I have to change my battery (buy a new one), buy a new charger, or do you think the camera itself is the problem here?
I personally think its the battery. By the way, the battery I am talking about is NOT a AA or AAA or whatever. Its an actual Li-ion En-El9 battery pack made specifically for Nikon D40's (what I have) or D60's.
Anyways, anyone who might have experienced something like this or maybe can pin point a problem that I wasnt aware of myself, just let me know what you think!
I'm desperate as to what the friggn problem is!...
A new battery from Nikon's website is 50 dollars. And then to ship it to where I live costs another 50 dollars, no lie. No shops on this little tiny island of mine seems to sell a Nikon battery seperate, if any at all.
Thanks for reading and answering, if you do.
My charger light is orange and always has been. It never changes green just to let you know for those who are saying THEIR charger light turns green. Mine is just orange.
I've had this camera for about a year.
you can buy a new cheap lithium Nikon D40 battery pack at here
