We need the link, first.

As far as autofocusing, here's a webpage that lists af lenses that are compatible with your D60.

why does the lens to my Nikon d60 keeps coming detached from the camera when properly attached?

when taking photos with my nikon d60 the lens came detached and since will not remain attached. the lens will attach and lock into position but will fall off the camera unless you apply pressure toward the camera. i have inspected the lens and camera and nothing appears to be broken. has anyone else had this problem?

Make sure the lens mount on the back of the lens isn't broken, as this is fairly easy to do with plastic mounts. A good mount looks like this:

If the tabs break off the lens will fall off.

I am looking for a Nikon D60 Lens for sports?

I am looking for a lens to take pictures of a night football game and a day football game. I need one that has a good zoom on it. Does anyone have any tips?

If you are in a professional stadium and you can afford it I'd say the AF VR Zoom-NIKKOR 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED or AF-S VR Zoom-NIKKOR 200-400mm f/4G IF-ED. Yes a larger aperature would help but there are good lights and you can bump the ISO some ( to say 400) you can get good shots without too much noise. And the extra zoom will pay off well. Take a monopod and make sure the VR is on

A warning they are not cheap lenses if you cannot afford them the 70-200 mm f/2.8 is also a good lens and will give you enough zoom for school stadiums

Nikon D60 lens compatibility?

I was wondering if there is like a third party company that makes lens' for nikon camera's (I have a D60) if so could you help me find a lens with around 10 to 15 mm lens. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Any lens with a motor in it will work.

Nikon calls them AF-S
Tamron has a little red oval sticker showing it's the motorized version.

All will have a designation that shows the motor is in the lens. You can use any AF lens as well, if you get a great deal on them, but you will have to manually focus the non-motorized (older) versions.

How to use Nikon F lens with D60?

I still love my Nikon FM3a, but was given a Nikon D60. I want to try the F series 45/2.8 prime lens from my FM3a on the D60 ( I think the 45mm was a great lens, pin-sharp and with great contrast) I'm just not sure how to do it? Obviously, I'll focus manually, but what settings are made on the camera and which on the lens? Thanks!

The previous response is incorrect. The 45mm f2.8 is in fact an AI-p lens. This means two things: First that it will mount just fine on higher end bodies (only pre-AIs that haven't been converted are incompatible). And the "p" means that it has a built-in CPU, so the light meter on the D60 is fully compatible.

Now on the D60 you'll need to set both aperture and shutter on the camera itself. If the ring on the lens is set to anything but the smallest aperture, the light meter will be disabled.

Although the D60's factory installed focusing screen isn't optimized for manual focusing, there is an "electronic rangefinder" function. When enabled, this uses the autofocus sensor to tell you which direction to turn the manual focus ring.

    2)   WAL-MART.. IF YOU DONT LIKE IT JUST BRING IT BACK, PEOLPE USE THEM TO GO ON VACATION WITH THEN RETURN IT WITH ALL PACKAGING AND RECIEPT, NO QUESTIONS ASKED WAL-MART IS THE BEST - mike g

    3)   I have had the worst experiences with Best Buy. They promise you all kinds of customer service and you never get it. Best Buy gets you to buy extra service plans that you don't need as well. The quality is the same at Walmart. Save your money and go to Walmart. You will be glad you did. I bought my camera there (it's pink) I love it and have had no problems with it. - MaggieMae

    4)   Never electronics at Walmart. Best Buy is not bad. I would look for an H.H. Gregg, you'll be happy. Yes, the quality is the same, but Walmart will not work with you if something goes wrong with the camera after 30 days. Best buy will and so will H.H. Gregg. - Darrick
