I want a new camera, I have been looking into Olympus cameras, especially the Olympus FE-340. I do not need any extraordinary camera, it is just for random pictures, but I do like a nice zoom. Is this a good camera? I do not want to spend more than $200.
i have had a few olympus cameras and i love love love them all. currently i have an FE-280 and it is a great camera. we bought it around christmas time for $160 and so far it is great.
it is compact and takes great pictures.

I am trying to use my digital camera with my computer, and I have it hooked up, however I keep getting a message that it cannot detect the camera.
Windows 2000 ME
What operating system are you using?
I had no problems downloading pictures from my camera until I switched to Vista. Now, instead of hooking my camera up to the computer, I have to take the memory card out of the computer and insert it into a card reader.

A simple, one-touch button allows you to record movies with amazing clarity in high-definition, right from your camera

Life can be tough, this camera is tougher. Rugged metal body and innovative shock-absorbing construction
hey my camera is being weird and whenever i turn it on it just goes to format settings and it just says like power off or card options and you have to erase all of the pictures and then it does and just says error! can anyone help me?????? i dont know whats going on what do i do when this happends??????
Your memory card may be corrupted, and you will need to buy a new xD card if that is the case.
The card will need to be Formatted before first use, and you should also format it regularly (especially after uploading all your photos to your PC and if you want to delete all files from the card). Doing this will prevent card errors from ocurring.
Check your user manual on how to format etc...
good luck...

I recently found a really old camera at an old school. Its one of the Olympus camera and i don't think it is digital.
My mirror does this really weird thing. I have to manually push some strange latch instde where the mirror is (after i take off the lens) then it lets me take a picture, but as soon as i take it, the mirror flips back.
Is there a way i can fix this myself, or do i have to go to a shop?
The mirror should automatically flip up when you press the shutter button, and flip down when the exposure is over. If it doesn't, something is sticking.
(A likely suspect is the foam mirror damper -- it may have turned into glue.)
Sometimes these mechanisms can be freed up by using the camera a few times.
If it doesn't start working after you've fired a couple dozen shots, take it in for service.

I just bought an olympus camera, and the lense is a Zuiko Digital 14-42mm 1:3.5-5.6. I hate the lense because the manual focus on it doesn't really do much justice or capture very well. I was wondering what would be a decent and in-expensive lense for this camera, with good manual focus and captures more crisp pictures.
Oy...
Olympus was not a good choice in terms of extensibility of the camera through add-ons.
The cameras that have the most available and least expensive quality lenses available (new or used) are
#1) Canon (450D/XSi, 400D/XTi)
#2) Nikon (D40, D90)
I would take a look at this lens - but it might not be more crisp or easier to focus... just more versatile in terms of focal ranges.
Olympus ED 18-180mm f/3.5-6.3 Zuiko Zoom Lens

18-180mm covers a very wide focal range for most purposes.
If however you are looking at getting into studio-set, controlled lighting, portrait or product photography... I would look at:
Olympus E 50mm f/2.0 Zuiko Macro Lens 1:2
Review here:

The 50mm lens will not have any zoom capabilities (you will have to actually move closer or farther away, physically) but will be very crisp.
If budget is no problem, I would get this:
Olympus ED 35-100mm f/2.0 Zuiko Zoom Lens (over $2000)
