Olympus E-1 commercial (korean)

Korean Olympus E1 commercial that shows its ruggedness pretty well.

What compatible lenses can I use with my olympus e-1 camera and do I need to use any form of converter.?

The Olympus 300mm lense for example is c£5k which I feel is well over the top for a 300mm lense.

Take a look at e-bay. You can purchase adaptors that will allow most lenses (Olympus OM and even Leica R) to be used on the "e series" cameras. Olympus sells its own adaptor to use OM lenses (MF-1). Remember due to the 4/3 sensor size the focal length is doubled - a 50 mm turns into a 100 mm equivalent.

Of course you lose auto focus and you need to use stop down metering - but this might be a low cost way to experiment (especially with longer focal length lenses).

1.Olympus Evolt E-500 DSLR Camera .8?

i,i am a novice, rookie or whatever you call in photography.but i
like photography, and love to take pics.(specially my adorable
daughter).i have always used point and shoot dig cameras nikon coolpix5.1 and currently i have canon snapshot 7.1.i also have a fullyautomatic olympus SLR film camera.that's my only expertise with SLR
cameras.now i want to upgrade to a dig SLR. AND I AM CONFUSED.
i have 3 products in mind and i dont know what to go for.

1.Olympus Evolt E-500 DSLR Camera .8.2 mega pix w/Two Lens Kit
(14-45mm / 40-150mm for $599.( the price looks just right,and
tempting, also with new feature they say dust reduction technology.

2.Olympus Evolt E-410 DSLR Camera w/Two Digital Lens Kit (14-42mm /
40-150mm) 10.2 mega pix.for $899.
(live mode, dust reduction and high ISO are its prominent features, they
say)

and finally,
3.Nikon D40x Digital SLR Two-Lens Bonus Outfit (18-55/55-200) 10.2
megapix for $949.

i am not able to decide.please suggest.

Among the three, I'd pick the Nikon. Better build quality and better lenses (as long as it's AF-I or AF-S) are two of the main strong points of a Nikon.

Also you might want to put a Canon D400/Digital Rebel XTi into consideration. It's pretty similar to a Nikon D40x, and it has automated noise reduction mechanism.

Olympus E-1 "write protect"?

I have an olympus E-1 and it says that it is write protected? My memory card is a transcend compac flash.
NEVER MIND I FORMATED IT AND IT ALL WORKED OUT!!!!!!!!

if you have any other questions check this site. Just go to the olympus camera area and select your camera, you will find helpful informations about many aspects of your camera

How do I reduce a 1.6Mb picture in size so it would be convenient to attach to e-mails?

My 8Mp Olympus shoots 1.6 Mb pictures in jpeg format. What would be the proper way to shrink it to 100-200 Kb formats? Thanks...

You can either edit it w/ photo editing program or if you are running XP you can download a cool little tool that will let you resize pictures either one at a time or in bulk.

Olympus E-P2 vs. Panasonic GF1: JPEG Engine Comparison

In our first round of comparisons between the Olympus E-P2 and the Panasonic GF1, we took a look at ISO performance and somewhat at image quality from the 2 very similar cameras. That was from a RAW perspective, and in general we do most of our shooting in RAW at Neutralday.com. That said, we got some email from readers wanting to see the differences in JPEG output between the two cameras. So we’ve gathered together a good number of similar images from the two, all shot in JPEG, using the cameras highest quality setting. Both cameras have a standard type image style, so that was used, and anywhere we could in-camera, the two cameras were set the same.

    Availability And the Results…

Actually largely the same. As several readers have pointed out, the Olympus E-P2 seems to known for its JPEG quality, but to my eye the only real difference between the two camera’s files is a bit more warmth in the E-P2 JPEGs. In general, I’m seeing a bit more red, and a bit more yellow in the E-P2 files, but I’m also seeing a bit more noise. I do see the appeal in the E-P2 files though, the added warmth gives them more punch than the GF1 files, but just slightly, and given the ability to tweak these settings in-camera (add saturation, contrast, etc.) I can’t see choosing one camera over the other on this basis alone. My perspective is that if you need more punch from the GF1 you could dial it in from the camera or in post, and personally there’s something to be said for the “natural” approach.
