Can anyone help me with a problem I am having with the settings on my new Olympus E-3?

The main problem seems to be that I have somehow messed up the settings, and now it takes about 2 seconds to shoot a picture when I am in the house. It worked fine at first, and I am still learning this camera.

Is the camera on one of the PASM creative modes? If so, what shutter speed is the camera set on (the number to the left of the f/stop)?

What ISO is it set on? Try using AUTO or a higher ISO (400+) while indoors.

Are you using flash? The slow sync modes will prioritize a slower shutter speed.

Is the self timer on? Press the middle silver button immediately to the left of the pentaprism hump and see if the 2 second timer is selected.

Is "Anti-shock" set to anything other than "OFF"? You can check by entering shooting menu #2 indicated by a little camera with a 2.

If everything fails you can reset all of your settings by entering shooting menu #1 (indicated by a little camera with a 1) and selecting "CUSTOM RESET". Select "RESET" and confirm.

Is all Olympus E-3 dslr camera come in PRO?

I try to order a olympus E-3 and some say pro on it. Just wounder if all E-3 dslr camera come as pro or not and where can i buy it really cheap online.

Pro cameras have some special attributes.

1) they use the latest technology to capture images and use full frame sensors (36x24 mm)
2) the makers of the camera system give special support to professional photographers ... like Nikon Professional Services (NPS) which can loan equipment for any number of reasons... special projects (Super Bowl is a current one.)
3) have rental equipment available in major markets.
4) have a list of current lenses that are from fisheye to extreme telephoto lenses as well as PC and macro lenses. (usually over 50 at any given time.

While the E-3 is a breakthrough in image making for an Olympus, the Nikon pro cameras, D3 and D3x and the Canon 1Ds, Mark III are still the leaders when it comes to pro DSLR's

what is the manufacture for The Olympus E-3 and The Olympus C-5050 ?

please help. no dumb answers please
the two objects are digital cameras

I don't understand the question.

Olympus is the manufacturer of both cameras.

Are you looking at a comparison? The C-5050 was a very good (for it's time) point and shoot, and the E-3 is a very good advanced amateur/beginner pro 4/3 D-SLR

Will a 16mm 'fisheye' for a 35mm camera still be a fisheye if I put it on a 4/3 Olympus DSLR?

I have a Nikon to Olympus 4/3 adapter and I've found a (probably cheapo) 16mm fisheye on e-bay. If I put this lens on my E-500 is it really a fisheye or is it more like in the 32mm range for a 35mm SLR?

When it comes to fisheye lenses, you do get what you pay for to a large degree, and using adapters is not always the wisest of ideas to get the effect you are looking for anyway. As stated by the other answerers, you might get a little distortion, but not a true fisheye effect. If you want a "bolt-on" fish eye lense, consult the link below, it is for the resource page on my site where you can find this kind of thing and other useful fisheye type tools and panoramic equipment and software.

Is the Olympus e-3 really worthe the money?

is the olympus e-3 really worth the money compared to the canon 40d?

if so why?
if not why?

The E-3 sensor is noisier than the Canon's;
The lenses are better than most Canon lenses;
You've got a larger choice of lenses with the Canon;
The E-3 is completely weather-sealed and is built like a tank. The 40D isn't;
Olympus claim world's fastest AF with certain lenses, that might be important to you.
The E-3 uses the standard 4/3 lens mount, which has the shortest registration distance of all mounts. This allows the use of practically ALL other camera lenses ever made, when using an appropriate adapter;
Canon lenses are incredibly oversized; 4/3 lenses are compact. This is a big bonus if you're after a lighter system you can carry around easily.

Both are just as fast; both deliver very good image quality.

As always, you're the only one who can decide which is best. Never ask people to give you an answer, because all answers will mostly be biased to whatever brand the one answering owns.
