Is anybody using Olympus compact digital cameras whats the opinion and experience about it. In particular The Olympus FE-5020 ( 12MP, x5 Optical zoom(24-120mm). And FE-4000(12MP, x4 Optical zoom (26-120mm).
I like to hear from somebody using Olympus compact digital cameras; is its lenses are good quality, overall performance and its durability.
A lot of people swear by Canon's. I just bought one myself. I looked at their ratings in Consumer Reports and they had several of the top tens in several categories, and I liked what 'fans' said at Best Buy's website.
I'm really happy with mine and love the color of the pictures.

Olympus FE-4000 or Olympus FE-5020?
The spec of the 5020 looks slightly better, but on eBay the 4000 is always slightly more expensive.
Am I missing something.
Does anyone know anything about these cameras?
At the rate people seem to be dropping their P&S cameras, I would suggest that the Tough series may be the way to go although the maximum optical zoom range is only 3.6x.
Since your are stuck with the optical zoom range you get with your camera, the FE-5020 would be my choice with an optical zoom range of 5x.

Olympus FE-5020 12MP
Nikon Coolpix S570 12 MP
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W180 10 MP
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W220 12 MP
Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W190 12MP
Nikon CoolPix S230 10 MP.
but i need a camera that works on an SD memory card.
i really want the olympus 5020 but i dont think it works on and SD memory card. I need the one that works the best but im not sure about the megapixels.

sony does not allow SD...they have their own memory stick - but the pic quality, display screen and handling the camera is the best in SONY. although u have not listed it here...pass on the message - NEVER BUY low/medium CANON dig cams....they r a bad deal..im saying this out of experience

hi
i need your help
i have budget of $180 for camera.so guide me which of following should i select and buy and also tell me why should your opted one ?
Olympus C-25,Olympus FE-4000,Olympus FE-5000,Olympus FE-5010,Olympus FE-5020,Olympus Stylus 1010,Olympus FE 310,Olympus FE-26, Olympus FE-45, Sony Cyber-shot DSC-S750,Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W80,Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W130,Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W150Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W180Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W190Sony Cyber-shot DSC- S950Sony DSC-S930
From the cameras listed above, I would go with most of the SONY Cyber-shots, since any of the Olympus above do not include the Waterproof/Shock protection features. Sony Cyber-shots are easy to use, but if you can get the Olympus Stylus 1010 for less than 180 then is a really good deal, since it incorporates great semiprofessional features (7x zoom, panoramic etc) For 180 you can get pretty good cameras, but it all depends on your taste, (from small and compact to quality and performance) Hope it helps :D.

Olympus Fe-5020-Zoom Review: Overview
The Olympus FE-5020 is an entry-level compact model that is simple to operate, with a low end price tag. On the down side it lacks in performance. If you need a quick camera for sporting events, quick snap shots, etc., you may wish to look elsewhere. Image quality is ok, but I think images lack vibrancy. Read more in our Full Conclusion . Olympus introduces its newest member to the FE line, the 5020. Sporting a 5x wide-angle optical zoom, it is the largest of the FE family. The 5020 is packed with features including: 12 megapixel resolution, a 2.7 in. LCD, 21 preset shooting modes, AF tracking, Intelligent Auto, Magic Filters and the TruPic III Image Processor. All this and more packed in a slim, compact body. The FE-5020 is available in three different colors and has an estimated retail price of $159.99
Now if you're asking yourself what AF tracking is and why do I care about Intelligent Auto, lets take a minute and break some of this down.
