I have an Olympus Zuiko 14mm-42mm lens. But it is not as wide as a Nikon 18mm - 55mm lens. Why?
Olympus 50-200mm Versus 70-300mm

As in, the Olympus Zuiko 14mm lens is not as wide in terms of it field of view than the Nikon 18mm lens. What's wrong?

And the viewfinder is not as wide also.

Lets compare. The Olympus 4/3 system has a 2.0 crop factor. The Nikon DSLR has a 1.5 crop factor. The Olympus 14-42mm lens is an equivalent 28-84mm. The Nikon 18-55mm lens is an equivalent 27-82.5mm. 27mm vs. 28mm is minimal.

How can I use my old Zuiko lens of Olympus OM 20 SLR Camera on an Olympus Digital SLR Camera?.?
My First Love

want to buy a new digital SLR Camera and use the old Olympus lenses on it which are still in good condition

Forget about it...get a lens for the camera (about 35mm auto, made for the digital camera you have. All these adapters, etc, are a big hassle. And, unless you know for sure, old lenses can have mold within them and become worse and worse with time. Good luck

Do you recommend the Olympus Zuiko 35mm Digital Macro Lens for my Olympus E-Volt 510?
Dramatic Tone, Olympus E-P3 with kit zoom lens

Pleeasseeee I'm on the market for a good macro lens at a reasonable price!

There are a few Four-Thirds options for macro photography:
- Olympus Zuiko Digital 35mm f/3.5 1:1 Macro
- Olympus Zuiko Digital ED 50mm f/2 1:2 Macro
- Sigma 105mm f/2.8 1:1 Macro
- Sigma 150mm f/2.8 1:1 Macro

The 35mm is the cheapest by far. It's very good optically, but one of the biggest annoyances of the lens is it's short working distance. It won't be a problem if you like shooting inanimate still-life, but it may make live insect photography somewhat unbearable if you're easily freaked out by bugs.

There are cheaper alternatives for macro photography if you choose to step outside the realm of digital. Legacy macro lenses work just as good at a fraction of the cost, but without AF. Extension tubes, bellows, dioptric lenses, or a simple lens reversal can also give you macro.

IS THIS A GOOD DEAL ON THIS LENS?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie wItem&item=160357590101&ssPageNa me=STRK:MESELX:IT

If the lens is in the condition he or she describes then it's a good deal. As good as the 14-42mm is, it generally sells for under $100 because there are so many for sale. Don't worry if you lose this auction because the next bargain 14-42mm won't be far behind. What troubles me about this listing is the lack of pictures. It's always a bad idea to buy used lenses without first seeing it so a lack of pictures makes a bad situation even worse. I would try to get some from the seller.

You may even get a better deal if you post a WTB on the www.43photo.com B/S forum. I'm sure there are a few people there that wouldn't mind letting one go for some extra cash.

What camera lens are comparable to the Zuiko lens?
New Camera, Olympus XZ-1

I have an Olympus Evolt E510 camera and would like to purchase a less expensive telephoto lens than the Zuiko lens that is compatible with the Olympus E510. I am specifically looking for at least a 200mm lens.
