I'm wondering if my new evolt lens the 80-300mm will be alright for my trip to france for wildlife photography its really a 40-150mm zoom but it doubles with the evolt cameras as they have the 4/3s system
It might be more than you need.

I'm planning to buy a new Olympus body my question is. Would that work with old lenses that I already have which are from Olympus as well? A new Four Thirds body would work with an old Four Thirds lens right?
Yes it is. I have had no problem using my lenses from an Olympus E-300 with my newer e-510. Since Olympus DSLRs use the 4/3 mount and all future models are projected to continue this, you can use your lenses with new camera bodies.

I have many many minolta xg7 lenses, considering thats what i've always used. I want to change to a dslr, but since minolta went out of the camera business im left with lots of lenses and no camera. Can I get a piece to make these lenses fit onto an olympus e-420?
Gee too bad you did not buy a Sony alpha DSLR. All your lenses would fit it.

Warning from that website:
"Minolta SLR lenses vary with design how much much they project into the cameras. The length and size of the aperture levers can also vary a bit. As a result, to mount your Minolta lenses on SOME 4/3 cameras, you will have to grind off about .3mm from the tip of the aperture lever. Other 4/3 owners take a different route and remove a bit of the light chamber to mount their favorite Minolta lenses. Obviously this is not an ideal solution, but remember your Minolta lenses were not designed to work with any digital camera, nor were the 4/3 cameras designed to work with Minolta lenses."

I have an Olympus c-4000 zoom camera in my possession, and I am attempting to repair it for someone.
He said he dropped it, and now the zoom lens (two whole pieces) has fallen off and I cannot get it back on. I have tried looking for camera repair shops in my area, but they are all closed down.
I can get the inner piece of the lens inside and attached, but I am having a hard time attaching the outer shell back onto it.
Please help me!
Hello Emerence,
Sorry about your friend's camera... but as far as you being able to repair it..... probably not going to happen.
The lens would not have fallen off if something had not broken inside the barrel of the lens, meaning a part would have to be ordered. 1. YOu do not know which part is needed. #2. Olympus only sells parts to authorized professional repair technicians. So on both counts, it makes it impossible for you to try to fix it. There are so many tiny springs and do-dads inside of that camera that once you open it and some of those parts fall out, you might as well just toss it into the garbage.
You will either have to give it back to your friend as is, or look around in a city close by for a camera repair.
Even if you were to be able to find a repair shop, chances are, the repair would cost at least $150.00. I don't mean to discourage you, but truth of the matter is, camera repairs are best left to camera repair technicians.
Thanks for reading.

Can this Olympus lens be used on other brands of DSLR cameras?
The Olympus Digital Zuiko 50mm f/2 Macro lens, and any other Digital Zuiko lens is interchangeable with any Four-Thirds mount body.
Currently, Olympus and Panasonic are the only companies making Four-Thirds bodies. The lens cannot be crossed with any other system (Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Minolta/Sony, etc.).

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA: PROFESSIONAL CAMERAS GO DIGITAL
Olympus has always been known to produce quality cameras, either point and shoot or professional cameras. However, these days Olympus has joined the digital scene by producing their own line of digital cameras. Olympus digital cameras are best known for producing DSLR cameras. These digital cameras are the kind that professional photographers use in their craft. Although this is for a fact, this company has also produced their own line of point and shoot Olympus digital cameras. First up is an Olympus digital camera called the MJU-mini. A 4.0 mega pixel Olympus digital camera, it is cute, portable and can capture great pictures. Also, a tough Olympus digital camera, it is made with a metal frame and known for its solid weight - this is great because hands get too shaky when a camera is too light. With 2x digital zoom, a 5.8-11.6mm Olympus lens, this baby is your best bet for your personal Olympus digital camera. Another personal Olympus digital camera is the MJU 500, obviously the higher...
