Pentax K X White

Which one looks nicer in your opinion?

I prefer white. Red is just too flashy in my opinion, not the best choice for discrete shooting. It can be quite annoying when a security guard comes up to you and asks why you are taking pictures, have a big red camera only increases that chance.

I found Pentax K-X black cheaper than navy ,white and red or any other colours!. Does the black body has a different specifications than others,/regards

Im going to be using it for alot of action shots
and i really want just clean sharp pictures

money kinda of is a set back, but i dont want to risk quality

so what do you think? which one?
or... is there a better one out there?

if you want action shots, I would go with the K-x AND you're on a budget, I would go with the K-x for sure...
reason 1:
from what I have seen, K-x has better ISO performance than the D5000, so you can step down on your ISO, and be able to shoot at faster shutter speeds
reason 2:
image stabilization... K-x has it in-body, so you don't need to buy stabilized lenses like you do with Nikon and pay twice as much...
reason 3:
P-x has auto-focus motor in the body, so you can buy any AF lens that fits the mount, and it will auto-focus... Nikon you need to purchase lenses with auto-focus motor built into them which have 2 characteristics:
a) They mainly come from Nikon so you are missing out on a lot of quality 3rd party lenses
b) they are expensive

K-x is $60 cheaper

you save yourself the embarrassment of people coming up to you and asking "Hey, is that Ashton Kutcher's camera?"... seriously, how can any brand advertised by Ashton Kutcher be taken seriously???

P.S. but since this place is filled with 90% Nikon fan-boys who love grading down people who do not agree with their views, I will probably get about 5-6 thumbs down :) hehehe... [in Borat voice] great success! :)

I found my way into the coolest job ever. I got offered by a internet radio station to represent my state for gigs & events. So in other words i get sent to events for free to take photos of the crowds, people, bands, etc
The catch is i don't get paid for my photos.
I already work full time so that's not the problem. The problem is i have a $300 canon camera which is good for daytime snap shots...but that's it!
So i was considering buying a new camera. I got offered a Pentax White K-x including case & 2 gig card for $700.

So my question is: do you think it's worth it? remembering i don't get paid for these events, so the camera is my choice / money. BUT it would take wicked photos of the bands on stage, the people & night time photos, etc

What do you guys think?!
i think it's worth it, but my friends think otherwise. I need an outsiders option! Thanks :)

If you like taking photographs, then I'd say its worth it. You'll keep using the camera even after the events. Just make sure you don't put it down for a second otherwise it will defs get stolen.
