Pentax Kx Body

Hello
In fact I have some different SLR Praktica and ZENITH lenses (Pentax M42 screw Mount) and looking for a new DSLR. I was interesting in Nikon D90,D5000 and Canon 500D Rebel T1I with a 18-200mm .But i was told that most of Pentax DSLR accept M42 adaptor without problems of focusing to infinity cause old SLR Pentax had made M42 mount lenses.But im wondering if there is a problem with auto-manual lenses that contain movable small pin for wide open focussing and weather if it can affect on light metering ability?.Also im wodering if all Pentax DSLR K bodies accept M42 adaptors and which one is better than others?

Also do you think that these lenses deserve such bodies or 18-200mm that is made for most new DSLR is much better. Thanks with my regards.

To stress, get the adaptor that gets flushed (level) to the camera mount. If a flange stays outside or above the camera mount, focusing to infinity will not work.

To add, some K-mount lenses have the Ricoh pin that can get the lens stuck. Search on that more on the net and how to solve the problem.

Metering works whatever kind of lens. You will be using the lens as if it were on the film SLR body. Also, with the newer bodies, you will get focus assist.

If you can afford to get the body with the kit lens, do so. The Pentax 18-55mm is an exceptionally great kit lens. It's a steal at such a low price.

You are wrong. It is the other way around. The dSLR deserves better glass so use the older lenses.
