Curious, and with some misgivings, I also packed a loose shirt and some frillies to find out what it feels like at the end of the lens.
Abby’s studio is tucked away on a quaint Cockermouth street. Inside, it’s like a stylish girlie flat with two rooms dedicated to the boudoir shoots. The first is a pretty den with pink flock wallpaper and sunlight pouring through chiffon-swathed windows.
The second has one solid black wall to create silhouette shots, a couch draped in black silk and a futon bed. One wall has a period iron fireplace and another is papered in the kind of contemporary blue print you’d find in a funky boutique.
The idea of the varied settings, explained Abby, is to get a range of shots to reflect the mood and the look the client wants to project.
Abby, 29, began Ultimately Intimate, as she calls the boudoir shoot packages, after women began to ask for cheeky pictures to give to their menfolk.
“It’s been a big thing over in America for a while now and in the south of England. But it’s definitely picking up here,” she said. “Now we have about three every month from lots of different backgrounds and lots of different ages
