I have a 12x12 photo album. I want to have pages that will take 8x10's and 4x6's. I don't want to be tied down to the standard six 4x6 prints to a page. Where can I find the abnormal refill pages for my album?
Try Big Lots.
Album Options - Custom Scrapbooks and Photo Albums. 12x12 and 8x8 custom albums with traditional scrapbook style pages or easy 4x6 photo pocket pages.
Using Adobe Photoshop Elements 5 I am creating a very professional-looking photo album from photos from my wedding. To make sure I design it correctly, I need to get in contact with a local printer to print and bind the photos into a book.
My question is how do I find a place that will do this? Where do Wedding Photographers go to have books made from the photos they take?
I want our book to be large (i.e. 12x12) and have the fold-flat pages, not like your typical binding like you would find on a hard-cover novel-style book.
A quick note: I am NOT looking for an online publishing company like www.mypublisher.com or www.photoworks.com or www.shutterfly.com or www.kodakgaller.com or others UNLESS they offer fold-flat pages (this might not be the correct term for that binding style) so please don't waste your time recommending these sites unless you know of one that does that style of binding. All the ones that I have listed so far do NOT have that style of binding.
Thanks!
Generally, the photographers that I utilize to get the images for the magazine I work for are freelancers. Those freelance photgraphers usually photograph weddings, commercial images for product catlogues, pretty much anything to get their bills paid, by using their cameras.
When it comes time for those that shoot weddings to create wedding albums, I believe that the use professional printers, or commercial printers, in order to print out on quality photo stock, as well as bind those albums. Not having to bind those albums, I cannot be sure. I'm positive though, that any printer you go to might only have certain size stock to choose from, and it is my advice that you work within those specs, in order to save yourself in production costs.
I'm not sure where you live, but if you'd only call a professional photographer's studio and ask them where to get it done, preferably a studio that specializes in wedding albums, then I'm sure that they'd be willing to help you with this!
I'm also kind of hesitant to send you in the direction of a commercial printer, knowing that you processed all of the images yourself, on your home computer.
I'm not sure what software that you used to process the images, but I would caution you to make sure that the images you plan on printing are notonly the proper size and resolution, but also that those same images are in a format and color platform that are compatible with the printer's specifications.
If you were using a newer version of Photoshop, CS/CS2, I'd be more than willing to let you in on how to batch process those same images and save yourself TONS of time.
I hope things work out for you and that this album comes together for you! I love it when people take pride in things for themselves and like to get their own hands dirty!

I bought a 12X12 expandable and I want to know how to make it expand. It didn't come with instructions. I guess it must be based on unscrewing it but how do you do it?
open the album, lift the flap by the spine. You will see two metal screws. You must hold the other end while unscrewing them. try using a nickle to rotate the head if you have trouble. then you add in extra posts. most albums come with extenders- or you can find them cheap were you got the album.
Personally - I take out all posts and replace them with Pioneer Snap Load. they allow for very thick albums, easier to get in and out of, and the pages lay flat when the album is opened. I have found them at Hobby lobby, Michael's and JoAnn fabrics

Have you checked on her site? For each episode, she has a supply list and it should be listed there. I've seen lots of 3-ring ones, but not any 5-ring ones lately.

I need some ideas....I have a program that i can print backgrounds that i can add my on texts, pictures and such on my 8x11 paper/card stock/photo paper. However, I prefer 12x12 albums. Anybody have any ideas on how I can use my 8x11 page on a 12x12 page without it looking strange?
Thanks
One idea is to cut the 8.5 x 11 page down to an 8x8 and put it in the center of the 12x12 page creating a boarder effect. A square within square will look good on a page.
Cut the 8.5x11 page into long strips and use them across the top and bottom of your larger page.

Bits&Pieces: From blog to page (a.k.a. The Blog Grab)
I tweaked the template a bit by first turning off all of the photo layers and backgrounds, then erasing the lower left hand horizontal line on the overlay for the left page, and then flipping the overlay itself and moving the journaling block over to continue the journaling on a second page. Next I copied and pasted my journaling directly from the blog post into the template and formatted the text using Avenir and a tiny bit of Amelie. Then I printed the two pages out onto white cardstock. To finish, I grabbed some of the shots from the blog post (in 300 DPI, mind you), plus a few other shots, measured the open space, and trimmed the photos to size.
These templates also work great if you simply need lots of space for multiple photos and longer stories.Don't let your good stories live only in cyberspace. Take them from blog to page today. Try one this weekend!
Every one of my templates is on sale—as is everything in the store—until next Tuesday at 6 a.m. E.S.T. as part of the Designer Digitals 4th Quarter Sale.
