I have an opportunity (along with some friends) to be bodypainted by an airbrush artist at a local nightclub. (They have monthly theme parties, and one of the free services they offer is the bodypainting for the evening). They tell me he uses an airbrushed on water based acrylic paint. Is this stuff safe. i saw some of his work from his photo albums, and he does some awesome stuff. Just worried about paint being sprayed on my nakedness, lol. Any clues anyone?
First, let me say I am amazed at the number of questions that this "Answers" site gets about airbrushed art. Secondly, let me say, that getting bodypainted is a very cool way of self expression. If you Are doing it for a nightclub function, all the more fun. I have been an airbrush artist and have done bodypainting many many many times at festivals (Mardi Gras, Fantasy Fest in Key West, Sturgis and Daytona Bike Rallies, etc.) and have only had one time when it was an issue, and she had an allergy to the paints, which is rare. If you have any allergies to materials (you or your doc should know), check first. Most airbrush artists, myself included use a water based acrylic textile paint for bodypainting. it is generally non toxic, you can swim or bathe with it on (abrasion removes it, as being washed by a sponge). It cleans easily. However, be warned, that once painted, any tight fitting garments (bra straps, etc.) that cover the painted areas will rub it off. All in all, a very safe way to express yourself. Have fun with it, enjoy it, and let me know how it goes. I have sent you a site address with a couple hundred or so pics from my portfolio of bodypainting just to give u some ideas, feel free to thieve one if u like it and show it to your artist so that he may try and duplicate it for you)

I absolutely love the way that acrylics looks on my nails, except for one nail because it always falls off. I have one clubbed thumb (link to photo at the bottom) which is shaped funny (flatter and curves differently) and is brittle. Every single time I get acrylics done no matter if it's a cheap place or a nice salon, the whole entire acrylic nail falls off. For my job, it is important that my nails look good for my appearance.
I'm desperate for answers! Please help!

find a GOOD nail tech that can use a metal or "sticker" form and BUILD you a nail out of ONLY acrylic powder without using glued on tips as a base. This built nail would be the exact shape of YOUR nail without having to MAKE a plastic tip fit on to your atypical nailbed. You may also have to experiment with different acrylic powdwers (OPI's never worked for me..)
I had this issue and it was that the "tip" was not a shape that stuck to my nail BUT if they built me a nail it stayed longer. it DID eventually pop off, but it took longer to happen. Once you know THAT nail's lifespan, soak it off more often and get a whole new nail built.. it will cost a bit more than traditional tips, but may work... good luck!!

I'm a new painter, and I need a little help with mixing acrylic paints. I have a tiny little basic set of colors: Titanium White, Phthalo Blue, Yellow Ochre, Crimson, Mars Black, and Medium Yellow.
I need help with only using those basic colors to get a color as close as possible to the walls of the tea house:

Sorry its such a tiny photo, but it was all I could find.
The color is like a really light green, with a little touch of light teal.
I'd make the basic green with the only blue you have, the Phthalo, and Yellow Ochre. Then I'd lighten with the white until it looked close to the value in the painting. I don't think you'll need the brighter yellow, because the green you're looking for is muted. In fact, you may need a touch of the crimson to mute it a bit more. Crimson is a kind of red, the opposite of green. When you add an opposite to a color, it neutralizes, or mutes it.
If it looks too yellow at the end, add more of the Phthalo; if it's too blue, add more of the Yellow Ochre.
Good luck!

You know stuff like this happens to shoes right?
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=27 904&id=1169649178&saved#/photo.p hp?pid=748927&id=1169649178
you know, the yellow thing (glue i guess) is part of the shoe.
what do i do to remove it.
will it harm my shoe?
and if i want to paint the shoe, how do i know if my acrylic paint is stretchable?
you should paint your shoe.
I was going through an old photo bucket account I had in high school and found some old art I did... I am just curious what random strangers have to say...
Do I have great potential? or should I just stick to it as a hobbie?

Paint and Create - Painted Chucks
Here are some chucks i have painted March 2008. =)
Used acrylic. Will use acrylic to paint yours too. it is water-based when wet and becomes rubberized when dry. it gives a slight-gloss finish and it won't wear out easily since i apply thick amounts of it for it to last for years.=) any color would do, we basically miz colors if we don't have it in our palette.
you can give to us your desired design or we can make one for you (we will make series of designs after we talk about what elements you would like to see in your chucks or bags, paintings, bangles -wooden, earrings, etc).
When it comes to shoes: Designs could be as much as 4 designs in a pair ( one different design for each side of the shoe) or even 1 design only for all sides.=)
we prefer shoes with white as background/preliminary color. easier to paint in that way.=) you can have words, colors, graphics and stuff in your chucks.
Price ranges from 700 to maximum of 1000php per pair for shoes....
