Album Cover Photography

Im a huge fan of the Deftones 'Saturday Night Wrist' album cover, i think the photography is awesome. I was wondering if anyone knew who the photographer was or who was responsible for the design of it?

I would quite like to research the photographer and see their other works.

Their personnel listing has "Lego" down for photographer. Not sure if they did the cover or not, though.


My guess would be Ray Lego.

Hi i am new at photography "am great at digital video"
I am going to take pictures of a rap singer for his album cover
and pictures posters.

should i use the preloaded setup for the eos camera, like portait
or should i use manual settings, which is the best settings
for a rap album cover?

I am going to use 2 points lighting, with chroma key background.
which iso? which wb? should i use built in flash or not? ect..

use full manual, auto wb, iso depends on what types of lights you have, do not use built in flash.

I'm a musician, and I've been working through some ideas with my photography for my upcoming EP and we're looking for a female model. Just for some body shots and silhouettes. (Her face won't be seen) Where are the best places to find girl models that aren't second rate? (Either online or in person) I'm in Memphis, TN but anywhere within a 200 mile radius is fine. Thanks for your suggestions :)

just try your local modelling agencys or if you see somebody in the street tht fits the brief just approach them :D

I need to make a fake CD cover for my black and white photography class. Since Rob Zombie is my favorite artist, i would like to make an album for him. It doesn't have to be literal. I need to create a front and a back for this using black and white photos that i need to take myself. What do you think would symbolize Rob Zombie? Any ideas!

Something funky or creepy. I would use inspiration from some of the songs. Maybe something zombie-ish...:-)

So much thought & creative talent went into these treasures of rock & pop. The artwork is superb, the photography is first rate, and
almost all covers tell quite a bit about the person/group that is portrayed. The CD covers now-a-days are so bland and generic.
Do you agree?

actually, cd covers these days are created by people highly trained in the art field and in digital imaging. I know - I go to an art college and I see the hard work that people put into those cd covers. Some of them may not be that great, but think about what you are saying. Artists created these!
