Wedding Photo Albums?

Ok, so one of my friends I went to Elementary School/Middle School with has actually become a really good photographer! I was so excited when I saw some of her pics, I asked her how much she'd cost. Since she's just starting out, she said she'd only charge me $150 because I'm a friend, and because she wants more pictures for her portfolio. The price includes a high res. CD, engagment session, and a days worth of coverage. The only problem is that I love those albums (parent, wedding) you can get with other photographers, and she's not quite to that point yet where she can do that. Does anyone know where I could take the pics from the CD she'll give me, and have it made into one of those albums?
If you don't know what I'm talking about with those albums...here's an example;

I was thinking about just doing prints and doing my own album via Micheals (and other craft stores)...but I'd really like to give my parents ( and future in-laws) a nice, professional looking album, and have my own too.
I'd appreciate any ideas/ help!
Jen
You guys rock! Well, most of you anyway-
Not all of us can afford Hollywood Glamour Shots on our wedding day, and have connections with friends that are generous & do a pretty decent job on the photography.
I like being creative, so I'll probably do a scrapbook album thing in addition too, but I do really like the sites given to me. I'm glad other people knew what I was talking about-lol.
I'm not completely sure she will be my photographer yet, but I just wanted to pose my question for the possibility!
Thanks guys!

Jen

You can get an album through almost any photographer. If you take the CD she gives you, you can get another photographer to format it for you or go directly through an album company. When my SiL got screwed over by her photographer 2 years ago all she had wa sa CD. So my photographer took her CD and put the images into an album just like she wanted and had it printed for her. You ought to be able to get any photographer to do this, call around for a good album price.

Good luck!

How do I get candle wax off of color photographs?

I just pulled my parents' wedding album out of a storage bin, and much to my dismay, the candles I had stored in the same bin melted all over the photo album. Does anyone know of a safe way to clean wax off of old color photos? (The photos were taken in 1974.)

The freezer. When wax gets very cold it will generally pop loose from about anything.

What would be a good song for my project?

I'm making a photo project using my parents' 50th wedding anniversary photo album.

My parents' are now deceased, so it's something I've been working on to share with my brothers & sisters (10) and other family.

Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.
something a little more conservative Rice! lol

MIL wants $400 album from wedding.! Long Sorry. ?

Our wedding was on a very tight budget. My parents have passed and his are divorced. Only my husbands father helped us out by paying for the food and drink at the reception. This was an incredible help to us and we totally appreciated it. Other than that we paid for the rest 100%. In cash mostly, but about 20% on credit cards that we are paying off . His mother didn’t help in any way…financially, emotionally or physically. I knew she would not help with paying for anything. She loves to tell people how everything she has is paid for and she took my husbands dad to the bank in their divorce and got every last dime. As well as her being a 25 year pharmacist…she is very well off, but since I have been with my husband has never once gotten him so much as a birthday or Christmas gift because she says that they are a waste of her money. So we knew monetary help from her was not happening. I had asked her over the course of months just a few things…non monetary things that would only take a small amount of her time. She always said no and had an excuse. Well a week before the wedding I asked her if she could call all the people that have not rsvp’d to see if they were coming to help get final counts. I work at night, so it would be easier for someone who is off at night to call people when they are typically not working. Her response was…”well, “Margaret” you need to hire a wedding coordinator if you cannot get these things done on your own…I have a career and telemarketing is not part of it”. I was stunned and just said, okay thank you anyway and we will see you next Saturday. I am still shocked about it. Flash forward. 8 weeks after. She calls and asks where her photo album is (we sent her a framed 8x10 wedding pic). I tell her that we only got one album that is ours and was part of our wedding package. She says that my husbands brother and sister were considerate enough to make sure the mothers got an album and I need to do the same. I told her I would call the photographer and get back to her. I called and they are $400 for an album to be put together after the fact. So my husband called her and told her that there was no way we can afford this and that we could get together some very nice photos for her and also suggested that since she did not get us a wedding gift, she could save that money and just get herself the album. But we would not be buying one because we do not have the money. She basically yelled at him and told him she wants the album and he needs to go get it. Luckily he stood his ground and told her that if she wanted one, this is the name and number of the photographer and she could call and order one. She told him we were inconsiderate and selfish brats and thank god her other two children do not behave like this and hung up on him. I feel that we should just ignore her until she apologizes and my husband wants to confront her and tell her where to go and how to get there. I think that will accomplish nothing. How would you deal with this situation? Do we suck it up and get her this album, putting another $428 after tax on our credit cards or just let her get it herself if she wants it?
Yes, she really said "telemarketer". We had get together a couple of days before the wedding..where I did finger foods and me and the rest of the wedding party all put together the favors and programs. She was invited and told my husband that asking people to put together our favors is rude and tasteless. That our wedding is not a part time job for our friends and family. Funny, his dad and stepmom had a great time hanging out with everyone and chatting the night up. She is just a very different being in my opinion.

That's outrageous! Do NOT order the album for her and don't say another word about it to her. She has the information your husband gave her, so if she really wants one she will get it herself.

@DigitalDiva: Unless their photographer gave/sold them reproduction rights to the images, scanning and printing their own would be a violation of copyright and could get them in trouble.

  • Fall in Love with Festive Fall Wedding Favors : Are You a Busy Mom ...

When it comes to picking favors , seasonal products still give you limitless options. And fall wedding favors are no different! There are candle holders, bottle stoppers, bookmarks, champagne flutes, and so many more things that are designed specifically for autumn themed weddings.

Fall is the season of rich colors, warm lighting, and cozy, inviting spaces – all the things you want to emulate throughout your wedding day and reception. And it’s easy to carry on that theme with appropriately selected fall wedding favors – favors that evoke the spirit of the season and give your guests a beautiful reminder of your wedding day.

When choosing fall wedding favors, remember your theme or color set. Bright yellow sunflowers are always big for autumn themed weddings as are rich red, brown, yellow, and orange autumn leaves. However, fall wedding favors with bright, deep colors will help set the stage at each person’s plate setting. But today’s bride wants to give more than just mints or candy; she wants to offer her guests a little gift to thank them for coming – one that is not only functional but well worth the price.
