I know you can have light box/fancy box and you get fanupdate but is there a program(you download on your server) where you can comment on others photo like you can on bebo and myspace? or a template you can put photos in fanupdate and the comment comes at the bottom?
Yes there is, if you are running your own website from either your own server or a hosting server. But your options are limited if you are wanting this in your "space" within someone else's Domain Name.
Try doing a quick Google search using the following keywords:

I have a ton of pictures that I want to make available online using some sort of photo album tech. The problem is I dont have time to upload individually all 989 pictures! I currently have 400+ of the pictures in a folder on my FTP server. Also a free program or code would be nice. I am big into mambo and joomla. Currently have coppermine Photo gallery. I am thinking there has to be some sort of program out there that will let me point right to this folder containing the pics I already have uploaded.
Nice utility here, not sure if it has a limit.

Hello,
If they are not on your computer download them, and then compress them before attaching to an email.

I'm trying to add my first photo to my photo album, I just click "share photos" but when I click on "add photos" it cannot find the server. Are there any other ways I could do this or if there is another link to that?
im pretty sure the easiest way is to set up an account on flickr
http://www.flickr.com/photos/36061162@N0 7/
so all you got to do then is when your in edit profile on yahoo360 click on share photos and then on upload from flickr
i think thats the esiest way
hope i helped

I am looking for a good photo album that can be used on a godaddy hosted sight. I want one that is like a forum. The site i have built is a guild site for some players on World of Warcraft. I want the members of the guild to be able to click on a link that will be with on our website where they can sign up and upload thier photos and screen shots at so other members can see. Right now we have been doing an outside like to flickr but some members have asked me to do something on the site instead of linking it out so they dont have to make 2 flickrs or they just dont want everyone to know their flickr account. Coppermine and image ready that come with godaddy have not really been the best so if there is anyone that can help me out here that would be great. I use a linx server so php and sql's are not a big deal for me.
thank you
im looking for something more like a forums system where they can just log in though a data base and upload the photo and it says they were the one that uploaded it kinda like coppermine but easier to work with
If you're using linux, then check out the offerings at:
http://www.sourceforge.net
Sourceforge.net is the main repository for opensource
software. I recall seeing alot of offerings for photo albums.
There's a search panel to use for searching...
Good luck!

Got new baby pictures that you want to send to your family and friends? Share a photo channel with them once, and have all subsequent uploads be included as well. Since the photos are already on the cloud, it's even easier to share. The huge amount of information required and tasks related to performing these searches forced us to change the way approached this problem several times. This has been a very thought-provoking and challenging road. But one great thing about attempting to do something exciting and different is that the number of opportunities to learn and grow. It seems like this shift in focus to leveraging existing web services to handle and share our information with our friends and family instead of building larger machines to store everything locally is uncovering new types of problems to solve every day. Let's get cracking!
