I am planning a website and want to have links to photo sharing albums?

I will use only links to online photo albums, not the pictures. When someone clicks on the link it will direct them to different online photo sharing albums like Webshots, Flickr, etc. Could there be any copyright problems with this?

Maybe. I think an important issue is whether someone visiting the link can tell who the proper copyright owner is. If the person visiting the link cannot tell, then there may be issues with deep-linking.

This area of law is still very undeveloped. For an example of a court case where providing a link was found to be copyright infringement, take a look at the case below.

What photo album site is the best photo storage/sharing site where I can be creative with the whole album?

I have photosite, but I have to pay for it. Is there a sight where I can store and share pictures but at the same time customize it to make it look nice?

Use http://photobucket.com works great and people can view if you choose.

Sharing photo album online?

I have created a photo album comprising of photoes from my nephews birthday party, using Adobe Photoshop Elements. PS Elements has allowed me to make a really impressive album, which I now want to share online to show other relatives - as it is. I have tried 'flikr' and 'picassa web' but both would upload the pictures in their own album schemes, not inmy created album.
Can any one suggest me a sevice that would allow me to upload my album online?
Thanks in advance

OK. You need help with two things that you will have to understand before being able to do this.
I suggest you print this out!
Firstly, you need to look at your ISP's details of your account, maybe an email they sent you when you first joined or any paperwork they mailed out to you. Invariably they will have given you a small amount of free web-space. This is the space you want to use to put things like your personal photo gallery/album on etc.
Look through the ISP's paperwork for any mention of 'webspace' or 'ftp'. If you cannot find any, try their website and their suppport section and search for the word webspace.
Failing that you need to call their helpdesk.
OK assuming you have the address of the webspace it will come in the form of two addresses.
One will be the usual looking http:// type of website URL..
so if it was onetel ISP for example your free website space would have the address:
http://myfreespace.onetel.com
But that isn't all.
To upload stuff, like your photo album, to the webspace you usually need to use a thing called FTP. I will assume you know nothing about FTP so here is basic guide to getting it going:
FTP is simply a different way of transporting and transferring data and files over the internet. It is very simple and you are basically copying files from one PC to another...you can also create folders/delete/rename etc...most things that you can do on your own PC, you can also do on the ftp PC that you connect to.
Let me simplify it.
You need a program that will connect in the FTP manner first of all.
I use one called FlashFXP but this is shareware and so I recommend you get a freeware one...choose one of the following, they are simple to use and good too:
http://download-1.visicommedia.com/softw ares/en/aceftpfree/aceftp3free.exe
(if the link doesn't work for any reason, try this instead:)
http://www.ftpcommander.com/DEMO/freeftp commander.exe
OK so install one of those and when you run it you'll see a familiar window with two sections. On the left you will see the folders on your PC. The part on the right is where you will see the folders on the FTP PC that you connect to. The process is simple. You will get an FTP login name and password from your ISP (they always give you these if they give you free web-space) then, in the FTP software you have chosen, look for a button to 'connect' or 'connect to server..' and it will ask you for the server (or FTP site) address.
(if we stick with my onetel example this would be something like ftp://myfreespace.onetel.com)
So put that url, or your ISP's one(!) in and then you will see it wants a LOG IN name and password. Enter the ones you got from your ISP.
It will also have a space where you can enter the PORT number (this is just where it connects to the other PC. Usually you don't have to worry yourself with this but make sure it is set to 21 as this is the default for most servers).
When you fill all of those in you are ready to connect. Connect!
Now, all being well it will tell you it is connected and on the right hand side of the window, you may not see much but what you are now looking at is a folder on the ISP's computer. this is YOUR folder they have given you. When you upload stuff into it, you can then access it as a webpage with the http:// address they also gave you.
Are you still with me? Good.
Now, to get your photo album on there you simply use the left-hand side part of the FTP program and navigate your way to the folder on your PC that contains all of the files that PS Elements made for the photo album. Don't know where they are stored?? read on...
Now, I just checked in my version of the Adobe software and it seems it saves the gallery files for you and also places a snapshot of your creation in the organizer thumbnails too. Find this thumbnail of your album creation in the organizer, right click it and select 'Reveal in Explorer'. this will open the folder on your PC where all of the files are stored..
now, inside the FTP program, navigate your way to the same folder by using the left hand side explorer style window. When you get there you will see files named something like...
'index.html' , 'projectthumb.jpg', 'manifest.xml', 'gallerymaker.xml', etc and IMPORTANTLY, A folder called RESOURCES.
Now, to send the files required to you own webspace you just need to drag the folder called Resources to the right hand side window (the one I said earlier that is showing your space on the ISP computer.)
It might have disconnected from the ISP by now as it will do if you connect and don't do anything for a few minutes. If that has happened simply connect again as above, then drag the folder over to the right. It will immediately start sending the folder and it's contents to your webspace.
Now, the most important file is still not sent. You then need to drag the following files over to the right side too as they are needed for the gallery to work:
Index.html
manifest.xml
gallerymaker.xml.
You can leave any other files.
When all of those are finished sending, right click on an area on the right hand side and select 'refresh' from the menu that appears. When it refreshes you will now see that you have successfully placed those files and folder over to your webspace on the ISP's computer. Well Done!
The gallery is ready to view.
To view it you now can close the FTP program.
You will have been given an HTTP:// address for your free webspace remember I said?
Well go and put that address into your Internet explorer and see what comes up.
You should now be viewing your own gallery.
Now you can hand out that web address to your friends and family and they can go see your gallery.
I hope that helped.

i need help with my yahoo 360 photo sharing. when I select my photo album it defaults to (just me-private).?

I change it to share with friends or even public, page down and save, and it defaults back to just me-private. I uplodad images to flicker and it still won't let me share phot album with my friends.

Well, try to go to YAHOO PHOTOS. Click the PHOTO ALBUM you want to share click SHARE ALBUM, look for the EDIT SETTINGS(I think it's in the lower part) then click PUBLIC, uncheck the AGE RESTRICTION button and SAVE. That's what I did when I first encountered that problem.. TRUST ME, IT WORKS!!

sharing photo album on 360?

i've tried everything to get my phot album to post on my 360 page and nothing works. everytime i go to the settings/editing page, It shows as being 'private". i've changed and saved it 'public' as well as for'friends only" and it still never shows up on my 360 page.

You must go to Yahoo photos (not in 360) and make sure the settings are public. Then go back to 360 and set it up how you like.
