I mean the photo once you have taken it if this is put into a photo album will it last long to view?

We have some that are well over 30 years old and look good. Once they went to the "encapsulated" films, like the current 600 film, they were much more durable. Sometimes the edges come unglued and look messy, but the photos are still all pretty nice. If they are in an album, the edges would be fine, also.

I recently started to get some of my photographs together to put in photo albums.Some are polaroid photos and others are just pictures taken from a regular film camera.The albums I bought are the kind that you peel away the plastic film,stick the pictures in the album and then roll the plastic back over the photo.My problem is for some reason or another,the pictures are not 'sticking' to the albums.Does anyone know of a safe glue I can use to make them stick without causing any damage to the photos? Some of the pictures are 20 years or older and I just want to keep them nice in the albums..Thanks :)

You can get photo mount tabs at most photo stores. They come on a strip backing that you peel off them.

The question I can't answer if whether they'll stick to the backing of the album pages you have. I haven't seen that type of album around for a while. I stopped using them because I found I had the opposite problem to yours: the plastic film stuck to the photos too well, and after a couple of years I was worried about the emulsion coming off the prints.

Sorry about the investment you have in the albums, but I would actually recommend using a different type of album. One with acid -free mounting sheets and a non-stick sheet of tissue between the pages.

I'm looking for an online store that sells the Adesso Albums that use polaroid photos. A friend of a friend had them at a wedding as an alternative to the traditional wedding guest book and they were awesome!

Hello! Those photo guest books are brilliant you'll love them. I bought mine at a site in the US and the postage was over $100. I contacted adesso albums and was told that they are available through a website called http://www.instantalbums.com.au

Make sure your guests know about the album and get extra film. I had eight black pages cos people took doubles and I ran out of film! Have a great wedding!

can i scan a polaroid picture?

I took a polaroid picture of myself, its my dearest possession for now, i heard that polaroid pictures fade as the time passes. is this right?

Please can you show me the ways i can preserve this image of my, should i scan it and save it in my coumputer.

can i keep it in my photo Album with out damaging it.

I've heard Polaroid photos do fade over time, but I found this blurb that says they don't:
According to the American National StandardŐs Institute, it takes more one than 100 years for a Polaroid photo to fade, especially if properly stored in an album. Additionally, Polaroid photos do not fade any faster than other photography mediums. In fact, each Polaroid photo has a built-in protective polyester outer layer, so fingerprints can easily be wiped off.


But scanning it would also be an excellent idea to save it forever as a digital file that will never fade away..just make sure to back it up on a cd or something. You could even take a disc to Walmart or CVS and print it out again if you wanted to hang it up.

Snapfish.com is a good place to send digital files to get printed. The first 20 are free and they will mail photo prints back to you.
