Has anyone with Vista gotten Sharper Image Digital Photo Album to work?
Fly in the rain

I got this item today, basically a small keychain photo viewer, but when I went to load photos on the unit Vista was unable to format the drive and it cannot be used. Has anyone gotten this to work on Vista?

Any recommendations for an on-line digital photo service company?

I would like to be able to occassionally upload about a dozen or so digital photos with captions I create and have the company send me a small, bound photo album on good quality paper in return. Any suggestions or recommendations?

wedding reception slide shows. ?

I know some people love these and others down right hate them.

I wanted to do one, and so does my fiance and members of our families. Just a collection of cute photos of us growing up and being together. Something for the family, our friends, and our parents.

We were going though his family albums after a death in the family ( needed pictures for the funeral home) and we found lots of cute pictures of him growing up. ( seriously if our kids look like he did when he was little they're going to be soooo cute) and he mentioned that he really wanted them up during the wedding.

So my question is when would be the best time for this?

We're having a bar upstairs in the reception location during our photos. Would that be a good time?

Would it be better just to let it run though during the reception dinner?

Would it be better just to have it loop with out music during the dance?

OR would it be best to have a small digital photo album play on the gust book table?

Or just have a few pictures blown up?

He's the only boy and I'm the only girl so this is a big deal for our families and we're close to our families and guests and we've both had a lot to overcome before getting to this point in our lives so we wanted to do at least some pictures.

The best time to run a slide show is during the toasts from the parents, best man and maid of honor. Chances are they will have something to say about one of the pictures during the toast. They have known you for a long time after all. Congrats on your special day.

How can digital cameras today make images with small and varied sizes as found in vintage photography?

You see heirloom photos in albums and frames that had a variety of custom sizes, mostly smaller. Standard today is 4x6. How can digital cameras or software take the same types of images with the same size range?

The size of the print is today a matter of the size of paper the printing machine takes, and then your desire to trim one or more sides.

Today's store-front machines use rolls of paper: a 4" roll can produce prints 4x6, 4x8, 4x10, etc Each lab tries to find the optimum mix of paper size 4", 5" and so on, and surfaces (glossy, lustre, etc) that keeps clients coming through the doors.

The paper is cut after the image is printed, so the image can be printed any length, and is only limited by the width of the paper.

A hundred years ago, the image might have been made by placing the negative directly on the printing paper, then exposing the sandwich to light, then processing the paper. The paper came in single sheets.

In the 19th century, the photographer also made the negative material. Some processes required that the image be exposed while the "film" or plate was still wet!

So, the print size was limited to the size of the plate or film in the camera. The quality of image capture (film or plate) a hundred or more years ago often wouldn't allow for enlargements - the blown up image would show film or lens shortcomings.

Historically, there were always many cameras using many different negative sizes - far more varied than film today - so there were many different print sizes.

The 4x6 convention is just that - a convention, not a direct result of cameras or digital imaging.

A standard print size allows for large-scale production of frames and albums for that size, reducing the costs.

I want to start my own small town business. How do I get started?

I want to start a one-hour photo lab, but also have other items in the store, like perfumes, digital cameras, special batteries, any items that go with photo taking, handbags, photo albums, picture frames. I want to have a photo lab and a small gift store. How do I get started and where do I find retailers/ manufactures to order from. Where do I get the photo lab equipment? Where do I get camera stuff to sell? I would like to sell name brand bags, something like Vera Bradley. I would like to sell Name brand Perfumes/ Colognes like Tommy, Hugo etc. How do I get started and is it wise to develop pics and have a small gift shop?
I also live in a very rural area, there are no other store like this. To get film developed you have drive at least 30 minutes. We only have a "Family Dollar Store" and "Dollar General Store" and one privately owed grocery store in my town. I think this business would benefit alot of people in my town.

Do not make the mistake of "putting the cart before the horse." Think about your intended consumers for a moment. Most people who utilize one-hour photo labs want photos. It might be true that they could want digital cameras, batteries and nice frames, but the whole handbag idea seems more appropriate for another store. Remember, men will be visiting your store, too. We don't go to photo booths to buy gifts for our wives, girlfriends or mothers. We do that at the mall, in stores like Macy's or Dillards. Stick to photo supplies! Then if you're a big success, open another store to sell perfume and handbags. As for camera supplies, try Wolf Cameras. They're a big wholesale supplier.

  • Buy Cheap

  • Digital Photo Album Frame Its A Good Deal For The Price If You Can ...

The Photoshare 7 "is not perfect and can not necessarily buy the best digital photo frame money. But for $ 100 or more a good deal. Some of the bad reviews will come from the lack of understanding of the size of the form d 'images. If done correctly, the device shows very beautiful. I had friends and was immediately dragged to the Photo Share and wants to stay there and watch while flowing through my family photos. Images must be the size of the portraits of all the "style" or all "landscape" style images for your slideshow. If you mix the two approaches will not work. Like most people make all your photos in a landscape, should still go there. I am a media producer and graphic designer, so that they maintain for most of my photos in portrait mode, which worked very well to do. Simply choose a direction for the digital picture frame and then adjust all the photos and it will be good. Sometimes it does not fit well and you can add a little smblack for borders, if necessary. In summary, the...
