I have 2 digital cameras and i want to make 3d photos. .When i put them side by side they are about 3 inches apart, is there a trick i can do? put one in front of the other or overlap 1 on top of the other, or just have to buy a 3d camera instead?
You don't need two camera's, one will suffice. First take a picture to simulate the view from your left eye. Then carefully slide your body and camera to the right about 2-3 inches and take another picture to simulate the view from your right eye. Then use this freeware to merge the pictures into a 3D view (you'll also need those red/blue glasses). Have been using this method for years, and it's pretty neat what you can do. If someone's in the picture, ask them to hold still for the two photos. Here's the Anamaker software. Go try it now:

Instead of having to take 2 photos side by side, i want a 3d attachment i can put on my SLR camera so i can take a photo in motion such as a flying bird, and then convert it to anaglyph on my pc. Is there anything available? Or just have to get an old vintage 3d 35mm camera?
There is a company that sells that ... I think Pooky has one.

I just discovered a Nishika n8000 3D quadra lens camera on our attic..
http://www.flickr.com/photos/29920738@N0 7/3059634608/
And I was just wondering what's the science behind a quadra lens system?
Can I use an ordinary 35mm colored film with it?
Does it utilize twice as much film per shot?
(36shots = 18 shots)
What are the pros and cons of using this camera?
Any tips and techniques?
..thnx...
I've never played with one of these but being '3D' it probably shoots something similar to the Realist stereo cameras.
At least for the Realist (and our cameras may use the same technique) you load it up with E6 slide film and shoot. Drop the film off at your lab and do NOT have them cut or mount the slides. When I get the film back I place the roll over my lightbox and one image is from the left lens, then the next frame, and then the next image is of the right lens. They alternate like this. I cut the chips (shots) out and mount them to Realist stereo mounts.
When loaded in a viewer, it's just like 3D.
The advantage of this is accurate 3D images that just pop out at you. The Realist lenses are roughly eye distance apart to simulate the 3D we see.
Tips? Make absolutely sure your horizon is level! Also, run a roll of cheap color negative film through it and have it developed only. Have the lab just give you back the roll of film. View it on a lightbox and you'll get an idea of what the camera outputs to the film.
How much would it cost to develop film for NISHIKA N9000 35mm 3-D CAMERA? This camera takes special 3d photos so im not sure if it would cost more to develop or if you have to take it somewhere special?
As it uses the normal 35mm Film Roll so the developing charges would be the same as you pay for the normal developing.
There would be two parallel shots on the 35mm film shots by the lenses of the NISHIKA 3-D Camera.
If anybody is overcharging then they are just charging just for the term 3-D.

I have an old 3D camera i found in a 2nd hand store. I have not even seen a photo taken with that type of camera.
As for buying film, the best place in the world is B & H Photo in NY. (DONT WORRY they deliver). It is really the best place to find anything that you want photo-wise. As for developing, most places that are 1 hour dont do that kind of work. You have to go to a professional developer, look for photo developers for professional use. You can also check with your local university if they have Photography classes there, the professor may be able to point you in the right direction.

Dartmouth expert: Oswald photo appears real
It's long been the contention of conspiracy theorists that photos of Oswald were doctored as part of an elaborate cover-up after the President's Nov. 22, 1963, assassination.
Farid said over the years, he's received dozens and dozens of requests to analyze the photo. What helped him decide to take on the project was a recent study he worked on looking at how the human brain processes images.
He used a computer program Facegen, to build a virtual 3D model of Oswald's head. Once that was completed, he added in the background features of the photo. Through a series of computations, he figured out where the camera had to be, the trajectory of the sun and where Oswald was in relation to the camera.
After that, it was many a sleepless night Farid said, trying to match exactly the shadows to those pictured in the photo.
"I was obsessed with it for two months," he said. "I would wake up in the middle of the night to work on it. . . For a good two weeks I couldn't get the shadows to match (the original photo)."
