Canon Photography Camera

I've been looking into buying a nice camera that I could use for nice quality photography. Is a Canon a good choice? What about a Nikon or another brand? I'm looking for something below $400.

There are, D-40, E420, I'm sure a few others. You can get super pro, $8000 cameras that are obsolete for $300 bucks now. There's a few Olympus e-1 on Amazon. I saw a D1 for $330.

Top of the line but without all the cool gadgets for stupid cheap. If you want to get a high quality camera and the old folks sound OK. I suggest taking a chance on some of these old boys. I can't guarantee anything in the field of used electronics but there's a chance you can get a gem for nothing. Kids blowing $250 on pocket cameras in colors with IS and junk when the best stuff in the world (a few years ago) is right next to it for $20 more. ...Suckers.

I have seen Canon 450d pictures and it seems really nice..But are there any other can be bettter?speciallly for food photography?
I want canon nothing else ^^

Canon 450D is the DSLR camera. Usually, the DSLR camera gives better image quality that the point and shoot camera. If you can afford it, go for it. However, I think the point-and-shoot might be enough for food photography. It would save you several hundred bucks.

One thing to keep in mind is the macro focus range. It's the minimum distance between your digicam and a subject that your camera can take in-focus images. For example, if the camera has macro focus range of 3cm., it means you can have a clear shot when your camera is far from the subject at least 3cm. Obviously, the shorter range the better. I would recommend the PowerShot A2100. Its macro focus range is only 1cm.

PS. the DSLR has no macro focus range by itself, it's up to the lens you put on the camera.

My ideal price is $350-$400.. even cheaper would be great but I think that's even more unrealistic for a good camera.

I want it to be the big cameras & digital. Not the small square ones.

For that price I would recommend Canon Powershot SX10IS 10MP with 20x Wide Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom.It take great picture for both wide and zoom.

I would like auto focus and multpleshots... option ( when you press the button it continuously takes pictures)
Good for sports photos.
I will also be taking family portraits and wedding pictures with the camera as well.

I don't know what your budget is. If you are a professional photographer (or want to be) I suggest the Canon EOS5D with the lens you feel would most useful for the kind of pictures you are interested in taking. If you want something for the advanced amateur, the Canon 40D is a good choice with good quality and a lot of features, If you are looking for a flexible Canon DSLR in the lower budget but good quality and flexibility range, the Canon Digital Rebel XT is a good choice. All of these cameras are SLR's with interchangeable lenses and top quality cameras.
Just remember this... the more you can afford to spend on your Canon DSLR camera. the better the quality and flex ability you can expect!
I cannot recommend a Canon that is not an interchangable lens camera which would be good for sports photography and do continuos multiple frames.
